Microsoft have announced that their new Xbox One console will come with a Blu-ray Disc
drive that will playback Blu-ray movies. Blu-ray 3D compatibility is currently unknown. At the event Microsoft also revealed deep TV integration and a new Kinect sensor.

Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness, but online retailer Amazon already has live pre-orders for three different Blu-ray releases. Star Trek Into Darkness opened in cinemas across the United States on May 17th, 2013.
For the week of May 21st, Universal Studios Home Entertainment is bringing Side Effects to Blu-ray. Steven Soderbergh has claimed that this feature will be his last theatrical venture - he shot his Liberace docudrama, Behind the Candelabra, for HBO - and if the notoriously prolific director is telling the truth, then he's going out on a high note.
The Criterion Collection has announced five titles for Blu-ray release in August. On August 6th, the studio will release Max Ophuls' The Earrings of Madame de... (1953). On August 13th, it will release John Frankenheimer's Seconds (1966). On August 20th, it will release Satyajit Ray's The Big City (1963) and Charulata (1964). And on August 27th, it will release Ernst Lubitsch's To Be or Not to Be (1942).
British distributors Arrow Video have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of director Brian De Palma's The Fury (1978), starring Kirk Douglas, John Cassavetes, Carrie Snodgress, and Charles Durning. Exact technical specs and supplemental features to be included on this upcoming release are yet to be revealed.
Millennium Entertainment will bring to Blu-ray director Mark Steven Johnson's action thriller Killing Season (2013), starring Robert De Niro, John Travolta, and Milo Ventimiglia. The preliminary release date set by the studio is August 20th.

British distributors Arrow Video have officially announced and detailed their upcoming standard and SteelBook Blu-ray editions of Jack Hill's landmark Blaxsploitation classic Foxy Brown (1974), starring Pam Grier, Antonio Fargas, and Peter Brown. The two Blu-ray editions will be available for purchase online and in shops across the United Kingdom on June 24th.
Universal Pictures has released a new international trailer for writer/director Edgar Wright's The World's End, which reunites the filmmaker with his Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz stars, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and co-stars Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan, Paddy Considine and Rosamund Pike. The invasion action-comedy is set to arrive in U.S. theaters on August 23rd.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and its sequel, Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls, both of which star Jim Carrey as the eponymous private investigator. The zany '90s comedies arrive on Blu-ray on September 3rd.
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer, dubbed "Fate of Your Planet", for director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, the Christopher Nolan-produced reboot of the Superman film franchise starring Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane. The film is set to arrive in U.S. theaters on June 14th.
GKIDS and New Video Group, a division of Cinedigm Entertainment, are bringing Studio Ghibli's latest animated film, From Up on Poppy Hill, to Blu-ray this September. Written by Hayao Miyazaki and directed by his son, Goro Miyazaki, the critically acclaimed coming-of-age story is set to via a BD/DVD combo pack release on September 3rd, and is already available for pre-order.
Universal Studios Home Entertainment is releasing director Tom Shadyac's Liar Liar on Blu-ray on July 9th. The Jim Carrey comedy co-stars Maura Tierney, Jennifer Tilly, Swoosie Kurtz, Anne Haney, Justin Cooper and Cary Elwes, and tells the tale of a lawyer who finds himself unable to lie for 24 hours.
PBS Distribution is releasing the next title in its Nova series this June: Australia's First 4 Billion Years, an overview of the history of the planet via an exploration of the land Down Under. The 2-disc Blu-ray edition of the four-hour documentary series streets on June 25th.

Anchor Bay Home Entertainment and RADiUS-TWC will release on Blu-ray director Philipp Stölzl's action thriller Erased a.k.a The Expatriate (2012), starring Aaron Eckhart, Liana Liberato, and Olga Kurylenko. The release will be available for purchase online and in stores across the United States on July 16th.
