Huzzah! I'm going to review this again! Rob Zombie's Halloween is one of the worst remakes imaginable. It's a double offender in that it tarnishes the memory of the previous (and undeniably superior) films, and it does nothing original or interesting to blaze its own trail moving forward.
Zombie is a poor filmmaker and it shows in how he stages scenes, the lack of any characterization, and how he fails so miserably at creating any sort of tension. He just goes right for disturbing and obvious, to which he succeeds admirably on the latter and completely bungles on the former.
Any cut of this movie is terrible--especially the Director's. Avoid at all cost.
The ONLY thing I will give the Blu-ray itself some praise for is its making-of documentary which is staggeringly in-depth. I watched the whole thing if only to find out how one screws up such an easy premise.
