I don't think I've ever seen a Steven Soderbergh movie before, so I didn't really know what to expect from Side Effects. All I know was that it garnered a positive response from both critics and audiences. After watching Side Effects, I asked myself why I've never seen a Steven Soderbergh movie before. Side Effects is really well directed and written. The story will keep your eyes glued to the screen and won't let you go. It's really interesting and the plot-twists are great. The ending made me go :O
The performances are great, namely Jude Law and Rooney Mara. Sure they've given great performances before, like Mara's portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo', but I think this is really one of the best performances given by both of those actors.
I predict at least two Academy Award nominations for this movie in 2014. One 'Best Actor' nomination for Jude Law and a 'Best screenplay' nomination. Let's hope Rooney Mara gets one too.
