What more can be said? This was a terrible film if you are a true Trekkie. I had high hopes for this film but this was a big let down. Great effects and lots of action can not make up for absurd story and situations. This is Star Trek "light" at its best.

You have got to be kidding me...this film was dreadful in 1987 and it deserves Blu Ray treatment why? This turkey was just as bad a film as that other turkey of his fromt he previous year "Cobra". When will these studios learn to put out the qulaity before the crapola.....and thats not just an opinion. This crap got a 4 and Shawshank got a 3.5???????

Dont listen to the DNR Snobs. You will never watch a film frame by frame like some of these people! For 17.99 at Frys run, do not walk and pick up this and Braveheart. If you think Paramount is going to remaster this you are CRAZY!!! It wont happen in your lifetime!! I dont think you people know the track record of Paramount. The picture is 10 times better than DVD and the best you will see in this medium.

Wow...another stinko review from Blu Ray dot com. 4.0 for a film that is considered by most of the public as one of the 20 or 25 best domestic films of all time? My advice, stay away from this site for film reviews of the actual film and stick to just reading the disc section.
