The "old" Setup [June, 2011]. (32 photos)WELCOME TO....Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:40:41
Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for all the rates and kind words. This is now my old setup... we purchased a house last year and moved in June 2011. I kept all the gear but I will split it up in the near future. Keeping a smaller system in the "day to day" living room and a dedicated system in the basement area. So stay tuned more pics and upgrades to come! joey 04/04/12 Arturo Series Furniture by Prepac.Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:45:50
Heres the TV stand I picked up Dec 09'. Its made in Canada (BC) by a company called PrePac. They don't sell to the public but you can find the product pretty much anywhere. I got mine from Cymax.ca The unit is damn solid and built like a tank. Arrived in two box's & a total weight of 125lbs (more or less). Pretty solid purchase. The main reason I chose this model was for the cabinet size... At 21" deep anything fits in it.
Heres a link that shows off what they have http://www.cymaxstores.ca/prepac-tv--C0.htm The new rack and Speakers....Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:50:00
The Monitor Audio speakers are incredible. Before purchasing these in Nov 09' I spent countless hours in different stores going back and forth between many brands (PSB, Energy, Paradigm, Higher end Polk Audio... just to name a few) and I always preffered the RS6's sound over the rest.
NOTE: The center channel is pushed forward approx 12-14" from the back wall... someone on the site suggested I try it for better imaging and he was right! Thx for the tip bro! Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:49:53
The RSCLR on its DIY stand... more info below.

Both RS6's are toe in at about 1.3/4" in. Approx 14" from the back wall and 17" from
either side of the Prepac rack. For those who don't know, having a good amount of free space around your speakers will greatly improve the listening experience. They need space to breath so they can give you its full potencial... try it you'll see. Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:49:37

More Sexy'ness! Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:46:24
No, thats not actual speaker cable... its protection. For some reason my freakin' cat
loves chewing on my cables. No matter the type of cable it is... speaker, audio, guitar etc... she'll chew at it. I needed to change approx $200 to $300 worth of Monster cable back in 2008-2009 year because there was hundreds of little teeth marks on every I had. So now, I protect all cabling from the cat with this Ikea cable hider and I spray this protect that tastes extremely bitter. No problem ever since! In this house shes got Diplo-CAT-tic immunity, WAF lets her do pretty much what she wants without any consequences, and i'm the bad guy. If she only knew how many times her cute'ness & the WAF saved her life.... ![]() PS3 remotes getting a charge....Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:46:12

Took about 2 weeks to get everything done. Missing parts (cables) and finishing the paint
on week nights but the overall look and movie experience is well worth it! I also installed a light switch to control the bottom ac plug. This way when I flick the switch ON i have the Dioder lights and the Antec A/V Cooler turn on. To control the lights inside the rack I installed another switch behind the Pre-Pac unit so I can turn them ON or OFF when I want. I was recently asked what colors I used for the living room but couldn't remember for the life of me but I found my samples last night. Both colors are by Behr, the main wall (screen) is called Teatime # UL140-20 & the side & rear walls is called Mexican Chile # 200D-6. A 65" would REALLY look good on that wall Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:43:27

This is the rest of the wallart I picked up. I went with a vintage horror theme
in this room. These are some of the first horror movies I watched as a kid so made sence of putting these up here... plus they look good! P.S. Thats little miss cable-eater right there.... The New eD A2-300 & SKADOOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Uploaded Mar 23, 2010 00:49:29

Heres a few pics of the new riser I built for the sub. Total cost for the two risers
was approx $52.00 and they turned out pretty nice I think... beats buying them at $50 + a piece! Uploaded Mar 28, 2010 03:10:44

Heres a better shot of the front damages... theres another chip like those on the left
side, some serious scuffs on the left edge and a few scratches on the back. You can't beat eD's customer service... after talking with Alex, he sent out 60ml of paint to finish off the scuffs. Unless looking at the sub from 12" away, you can't really tell its been through hell and back! Heres a link showing you how the box arrived... I am still shocked that FedEx brought this over in this condition. http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f259/4x12/DAMAGED%20A2-300/ Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:40:50

Four QS8's handle all rear and side surround duty. Not perfectly placed for the rears but since there isn't too many 7.1 titles available at the moment, I aint too worried. Making the back cabling invisible wasn't possible here... unlike the side surrounds where I placed the cables in-wall. The back wall is a concrete type wall, so I used a cable raceway and painted it.
Jesus..... please excuse my cat's indecent poses... I didn't notice she was "stretching" while taking the pic. ![]() The New QS8'sUploaded Aug 20, 2010 01:43:05

SC-07 it kills! Yep, was kicking it old school when this pic was shot!! Remember, Priest IS the original Metal band... not Sabbath!! For those curious, Sad Wings Of Destiny was playing ![]() Emotiva.Uploaded Nov 20, 2010 15:05:33
These are the amps that are powering up my Monitor Audio speakers! I've got 3 Monobloc UPA-1's (one not seen) powering the front 3 channels (front left/right & center channel) and the UPA-5's (five channel amp) taking care of the rear channels (side/back surrounds). Totally loving this setup! Makes a huge difference in two channel audio listening and an even bigger one in HT mode. Better detail & separation of each channel, dialogue is much clearer. Another benefit of having proper power to the speakers was also felt with the subs. Better low end and tighter bass response.
The Pioneer Elite is being used as a pre-amp. Great upconverting features. Its a great receiver and would make ANY home theater fan happy. The ICEamps are killer on it. But for me, having it drive 7 speakers at once did reduce its audio quality. For the average user, they wouldn't notice a difference and it would do a killer job on its own... For someone who wants the best possible sound from his system, feeding each speaker its own dedicated power source is the way to go! Uploaded Nov 20, 2010 15:05:35

The Prepac rack doesnt come with interior lights. But I picked up another Ikea
Dioder kit and put a neon behind each rack... I think it looks pretty kick ass! This isn't an up to date image of the rack... but still gives you a good idea of its potential. Uploaded Jan 05, 2010 22:43:51
Close up shot of the Panny and Dioder lights from Ikea. These aren't the multi-colored Dioder kit. Installed 2 LED strips on top and one on each side and bottom. Ratings
