Okay. I should have not said "WAY, WAY overboard" but should have just said: "A tiny, tiny bit too much".
B. I refuse to become one those sissy, politically correct people society dictates men should become. I have not dissed the brother's gear. The reality is, the dude gear is fantastic.
Should we all just give glowing comments for everything? What about the setups which you know can use some helpful advice? Sometime we have to speak the truth.
Hulk, did you read my entire comment? I really believe that the amount of panels he is using takes away from the look of the theater. Also, too much acoustic panels can destroy sound quality.
As for me never saying something in someone's gallery without it ending in a dis is lie straight from hell. I've made hundreds for comments with nothing but praises. IF IT GOT POLK, you know I'm gonna sing its praises.
“I think...you just can't stand to see a setup nicer than yours”. Ha, that is too damn funny. Find a setup posted in the users gallery, which in your secret opinion is absolutely crappy. That system will be 10 times better than my garbage. I don’t take this hobby that seriously at all.
Speaking of my setup, it has gone through many changes. I'm rocking a 9.4.1 (try to figure the .1 out) and some other stuff. Will I post my gear up on this site or any other site again? Heck no. Why, cause I really don't need or desire comments. Been there, done that... I really don't give a flying monkey if someone likes or dislikes my theater.
Brother, you and J. Blaze are my Heroes. I don't know you guys personally but you seem like good people. And yeah, I'm in Staten Island... I can't live in that preppy part of New York State you choose to live in.
Keep good.
"WAY WAY OVERBOARD" do you even stop to think before you post? When was the last time you actually complimented someone's gallery that didn't end with a diss? I know you think its constructive criticism but It's not "dude" I think...you just can't stand to see a setup nicer than yours. BTW what did happen to your gallery? Stop ducking the question already...
Mama always said...if you cain't say nuttin good, then don't say nuttin at all!
Hey wes thanks, not at all, I cover the amps/lights with a black cloth so there's no problem while watching a movie. I'll try to get a picture up with the lights covered.
Wish I was born with a silver spoon then maybe I could've gotten all the gear I've ever wanted. But we're all not as fortunate as you to have put together the perfect system the first time around. Lol
There comes a point in this hobby where one will have to sit back and say enough. Enough with the upgrades, enough with the tweaking, etc, etc.
B. doing more to your theater is just doing busy work for you to be busy. I think you've reached a level that most people who visit this site would love to have what you got.
Bro, put away the credit cards and put in some reference blu-ray movies and enjoy.
“Besides what would I do with space if I moved the amps? Get another SubM maybe?”
lol… I was kinda thinking that, but wasn’t the main reason for the in-wall thought.
Actually I am thinking about cutting a hole in my wall and building a equipment rack, but I’m on the scared side.. hehehe
But, you never know what you will need the space for, and that could be a project this summer for you, because its too dam cold for that mess right now!
Your memory serves you well, the window is behind the middle seat. I thought about it many times but never realy have the time time to do it. Besides what would I do with space if I moved the amps? Get another SubM maybe?
Not at all Kev it was a great sub I may even want to bring it back someday for a future setup.
The SubM was always the goal. I had to take it step by step sub by sub If you will in order reach my goal.
The SubM is bad mother 'hush your mouth'...
This should be my last sub upgrade unless a really good deal on the "JL Gathom" falls into my lap....
Thanks for stopping by Kev.....
Hulk, been a while since i looked at the theater. Nice job on the panels. Very professional looking. The lighting looks amazing. Gives a lounge
sort of ambience. Superb job.
Thanks for the warm welcome wes, the fathom is a magnificent sub. You are write about "ARO" but that's were the SMS-1 steps. I'm realy enjoying it. I may still play around with placement just to see what differences I can here. With the SMS-1 I can see first hand what changed. As for the Oppo, I was just about to pull the trigger on the 103 but decided to wait a bit and get the 105 instead. Thanks for stopping by.
Welcome to the JL Audio F113 Family great subs I wished they had a bit more sophisticated EQ! Why place them in the front rather than mid room on each side of the wall?
Dog!!! Yo!! I just came on site to look for some bluray deals and my mouth dropped when I saw the JL sick man sick! Stay true, stay sealed. Nice come up bruh.
@ Nickows
Thank you, funny thing about this room is, just when I think I've completed it, I see something that have to have in there. It never ends.
@ Djoel
Glad you joined the forum Welcome and thanks for stopping by. Maybe you can start a gallery and show off those beautiful Acende towers you've got.
@HAMP
There really isn't much I can do to this, can't add-on to it because technically this is a storage shed on the back of my property "no plumbing" for any bldg inspectors reading this post. A new family room addition has been in the works for the last couple of years so let's see what happens. Till then this room will have to do, hey I cant complain, I been able to make all the noise I want because of my little black room.
Wow! ! ! I can only see two things left you can do to that theater room. (1) add your second JL sub, which you already mentioned, and (2) expand your theater. Add-on or whatever its called... lol Its all Looking fantastic! ! I see you appreciate the dipole? ;-)
Not at all, I was concerned about that myself prior to making the move on the f113. The Empires realy rocked my theater room and was very satisfied with them, but getting the f113 was something that I'd always wanted to add to my setup.
I'm still tweeking this bad boy but so far it has me smiling from ear to ear with how well it performs. I am considering a second Fathom further down the road because let's face it nothing performs better then dual subs.
