The front of the room is blacked out with velvet sheeting from McMaster-Carr, to form a pseudo-proscenium
and help with ANSI contrast.

The curve of the screen. 40' radius.
Uploaded Nov 14, 2008 02:19:30
The curve helps to eliminate pincushion from the anamorphic lens, and helps to reflect more light towards
the viewer; but there is also the
"cool" factor to a curved screen. :P

I believe that the 10th Commandment in the Bible is "Thou shalt not covet"... this command is pretty hard to follow when I look at your set up Brain Sturgeon! (just joking, God is supreme in my life). Seriously though, your set up is very nice & well done indeed. Excellent screen shots for us to view too. If I had the money to build a home theater this extensive- I would do mine very similar to yours (design, equipment, speaker placement, seating, popcorn maker, etc). Thank you for sharing with the group... I, for one certainly appreciate it.
I'm not quite sure how I've missed your theatre for so long. It really is a thing of beauty. From the SMX screen to your ISCO III lens to the B&W sound stage and the Gotham sub. Certainly something to aspire to.
I like the idea of painting the front black to absorber any light great idea.
Ever thought of changing speakers, I have been auditioning Focal Utopia and have to say was very impressed just too expensive compared to B&W. Also the Gotham must blast the floor if it is on platform.
every superlative known can be left in this comment. bass must be wonderful (of course same for the rest of the sound spectrum). picture quality looks astounding!
wow, question though: do you have any plans to upgrade to 7.1 sound? in regards to the Dark Knight bluray with the switching aspect ratios - what does the projector/screen do with the 1.78 IMAX scenes - I assume they crop it?
OMG!!! B&W, Classé Amps, JL Audio Gotham and a SIM2 beamer with a ISCO 3 Lens... what a perfect and unbeatable setup! I so damn impressed I don't know what to say!!!!!! just amazing! And everything just looks perfect. Great job. I haven't seen all HT on this page but right now this is the by far best equipped home cinema!
Spectacular. As compelling as the pictures are, I was also fascinated to read through the descriptions and comments of someone with obvious high expertise and savvy in HT technology. Bravo, and 10+ out of 10!
This is amazing, I think one of the best parts about it is how it just blends into the house. It somehow has kept the feeling of a living room, even with two rows of seating, but undoubtly performs like a 'true' dedicated room if you understand what I mean I AM VERY INTRESTED TO PURCHASE CLASSE POWER AMP IF U R INTRESTED PLS GIVE ME A MAIL pravin.veerla@gmail.com
same here but no updates in a while. i think last i heard Brain sturgeon was moving (don't quote me on that though)...so maybe we might get a mini ULTRAavx type theater
