I will be updating my gallery will fresh photos soon, with new upgrades to my setup. I recently bought an Emotiva XPA-5 and XPA-2, and 2 SVS PB13-Ultra subwoofers.

In these photos my setup consists of a Samsung ps59d8000 plasma, a Sony strda5300es 7.1 receiver, a pair of Dali Concept 10's for my front floor standing speakers, Dali Concept 2's for my rears, a Dali Concept centre speaker and a Dali Concept sub woofer, an Oppo bdp-93 Blu-ray player, an Onkyo c-s5vl sacd player, a 60gb PS3, a 250gb slim Xbox 360, a Sony rdr-hx910 hdd/dvd recorder upgraded with a 500gb hard drive, an s2 1tb Samsung external hard drive, a Logitech harmony 1100i universal remote, 4x 24" + 2x 15" Cyron htpb pro lights with htw1000 lighting control systems, a Nintendo Gamecube, PS2, cable tv, a Monster hdp1000 surge protector, and Energizer ps3 and xbox 360 controller recharge stations.

My Dali Concept sub which is positioned behind my theatre seating. This is an old photo though, from a few years ago before I purchased my currently leather theatre seating. You can see my fabric HT lounge in the shot, lol.

My slim PS2. Even though my 60gb PS3 is backwards compatible with PS2 games, on the odd occasion PS2 games don't run as smoothly as they do in an actual PS2 console in the PS3, so I still have a PS2 in my setup for that reason. My slim ps2 console is located in the top draw on the left side of my home theatre cabinet.

This is also an old photo from a few years ago (taken at the beginning of 2010 I believe) of my Monster hts1000 power surge board. I actually own a Monster hdp1000 power board now, which looks exactly the same as the hts1000 except it has a voltage meter on it. I suppose my cable management could be a little tidier but they are all hidden out of the way behind my cabinet anyway, and they can't be seen from any angle unless someone looks behind there, which they never do.

My new custom made shelves, which are made from Tasmanian Oak. They hold up to 1440 14mm thick Amaray cases, or 1674 12mm cases, which is the standard size thickness of blu-ray cases in the U.S.

my favorite thing are the custom shelves... i mean. the components and speakers are obviously stellar, but good lord, where and how did you acquire the shelves??? how much did they run you? (if you dont mind me asking, that is.)

Thanks for your kind comment , it means a lot to me.. somebody with a great setup like yours saying mine is looking nice is a wonderful motivation to keep on going in this HT hobby . My next step is a projector with eletric drop down screen for a combo setup.. thanks again.

absolutely love the setup of the theater area. colors are awesome and love how everything is that silver aluminum finish like the Samsung. Couch looks incredibly comfortable.

Anyway, where did you get those mini LEDs for behind your display? Those are pretty badass! I've been looking for a different way to light the area behind my TV, but so far, haven't been able to find anythhing that nice. It is a 65" DLP, so it may be harder to mount those on the back of mine. Nice set-up al around, however!

Love your set-up bro. It's so clean and inviting. I also really like your snack bar and popcorn machine. Looks like you have all your basis covered and you put some TLC into the entire space. Not only do you have a great HT, but your entire environment kicks some serious butt. Very nice!

Thanks for your kind comments. The Dali Concepts sound great, with the twin bass drivers on each front speaker and the sub, I have no bass issues whatsoever. They produce strong bass without being too overpowering. Bass is actually a big part why I decided on the Dali Concepts when shopping for speakers. Though there is always room for improvement, and when I purchase a new receiver next year it will have multiple sub/LFE outputs, so I will run a 2nd sub.

That looks like a propper HT setup.Very thorough.Don't know why you've turned off ratings as there is no way in hell anyone would give less than 5

Get El-aurence if you haven't.Seems like the perfect setup for it

Almost forgot:How does those Dali's sound?Had dalis suit 2.8,and while they were good,they were somewhat poor in the bassegment.Guess yours are better there...

@ZIPPO, yeah if the Oppo was available in silver that would have been awesome.

@Onyxbfly, Regarding the speaker stands, I don't necessarily prefer speaker stands over wall mounts, they are just my only option where I live currently. I lease an apartment which is owned by my dad, and he doesn't want to drill holes in his walls just for speaker mounts, so I have to respect his wishes as the tenant.

Performance wise, I think the rears sound great at their current high. There are setting in my receiver for having them positioned up high. I was originally going to purchase 1m high stands, which would have put the speakers parallel with the top of the back rests of the couch, however I'm glad I didn't and instead decided to buy 1.2m high stands, as I feel it creates a better sound field having them up little higher.

Love the silver color scheme of your electronics, especially the SONY 5300ES & the Samsung TV. It's too bad Oppo doesn't offer a silver version.

Morning Craig,

You have a awesome home theater. If the ratings were enabled I'd give you an easy ten. Your theater looks very warm and inviting, yet modern with your choice of kitchen decor.

I have a question about your speaker stands. I know some people tend to want to have their surrounds mounted on the wall above their heads. On the flip side some have them mounted the way you do. I saw in one of your previous replies which stands you used. I wanted to know why you preferred stands over wall mounts and how does your system sound with the speakers situated the way you have them.

I'm considering a similar approach. Since I live in an apartment I was considering stands. I will also be using bookshelves for surrounds. I wanted to get an idea of how yours sounded since yours are higher than I have typically seen. I really like how your stands clear the back of couch. Hopefully I can find something stateside if not I'll look into making them.

@ldgibson76, I'm sure the true power rating of the 5300es is lower per channel when they are all been driven compared to what Sony claim. However I can honestly say that it has handled everything I've thrown at it with ease. It's lowest volume is -92db and it's highest is +23db. When listening to music I often have the volume set between -4&-6db, which is very loud, I sometimes even go as high as +3db. When watching movies I usually set the volume between -6&-8db, which is also very loud. Never once have I heard a hint of distortion or experienced any other performance issue, the sound quality of the 5300es remains strong and clear throughout it all. The Concept 10's sensitivity is 91db @ 2.83v/1m, their efficiency is about average for speakers in their price range. Dali recommends amplified power levels of between 50 and 200 W each. Based on all the reviews I've read, they don't just work well with higher end gear, they also perform extremely well with even the cheapest receivers/amps on the market. I think the Dali Concept 10's along with the other speakers I own in the Concept series, sound fantastic paired up with the 5300es.

Though there is always room for improvement, and as much as I think the 5300es is great receiver, buying a new amp/amps is something I've considered for a while now. Since becoming a member of this site less than 2 years ago, I've bought 2 tv's (I sold the c8000 lcd and bought the d8000 plasma with the money), 3 Blu-ray players, a Panasonic an Oppo and a Toshiba, bias lighting, a stand alone SACD player, a new slim Xbox360, plus other additions, not to mention my blu-ray collection has almost doubled, my point being that upgrades take time, you can't do everything at once. I have considered purchasing an Onkyo tx-nr5009 receiver, and/or Emotiva amps over the last few months, however I've held off for numerous reasons, 1 being the rumors that 4K is on it's way to the home market, so I'm being a bit more cautious before I jump in.

Plus I don't have endless funds. Since February I've spent $650 on the popcorn machine, $3350 on a new mattress for my bed, $1000 for a new 7 piece dining suite, over $500 on framed pictures, plus a few thousand on other purchases, and now $2500 on the new shelves. So that's over $10000 I've spent on those things in less than 6 months. I'm also looking in the coming months at purchasing a new buffet cabinet for about $1000-$1500 and a new BBQ for $2500. With a new amp also comes a new sub, so I can run a 7.2 setup.�I'd prefer to buy another sub at the same time as the amp. I'd say by the end of next year I will have purchased a new receiver/amp/s or power amp/s, at this point I'm swaying towards the Onkyo tx-nr5010, �but it will all come in good time, baby steps my friend.

Cevolution, I know I have left a comment previously, but it's no longer visible. No worries, I stand by what I said before,.... you have a very impressive setup. The rig is nicely configured and the Samsung C8000 is a beast of a TV. From the popcorn machine to the waterfall to the very impressive media collection, you deserve all of the kudos you have received. The Dali speaker package is very formidable, but I do have a question regarding the Sony DA5300ES. Although it's rated at 130 watts per channel, Sony is notorious for not revealing the power rating when all channels are driven, resulting in a substantially lower power rating. (this is very true for the US models) Dali's are no doubt excellent sounding speakers but they aren't the most efficient speakers out there. Have you ever felt the need to augment the 5300ES with outboard amplification? By the way, there's no doubting the pre-amp section of the ES products. The 5300ES was at one time the bar setter for AVR's when it came to the number of HDMI inputs (6) and one of the first to incorporate DTS-HD/MA decoding.

@mrmichaelbeck, the machine cleans up very easily with no hassles, the photo I took of the popcorn already made in the popper was actually taken with my iphone the day before the rest of the photos, and the next day I used my camera to take all the other shots, after I had cleaned it for the 1st time.

@Omardd98, thank you for the kind comment. I bought the rear speaker stands from http://www.selbyacoustics.com.au/. They are 1200mm in height (without the speakers on them). I can't remember what I paid for them now.

Wonderful looking setup. Love your new Samsung TV. I have the 63C8000 and it's wonderful. Your HT seating is fantastic looking as well. I wish i had the room for that. Oh and your speakers look like they can rock the house. I'm sure you're very proud of your setup.

Nice set up Craig and thanks for the kind words about my room. The DTS plaque was bought from the official site DTSonline.com but they no longer sell them. I think that I may have got one of the last available and that was over 3 years ago. You may have luck on e-bay if someone is selling a version like that, Good luck. Glad that your Uncle's love the Holden's as much as I do.
