This all started back in March 2009. I decided to buy the Pioneer blu-ray player but after watching the first HD movie and hearing the sound coming out of my speakers I knew something was wrong. First my old A/V (Pioneer VSX-5700S) could not decode the new audio format (it really didn't sound good). So I bought the Pioneer VSX-1018AH-K but now the speakers didn't do the audio track justice. Then I started hanging around here and after a few months we decided that by the end of 2009 we would have a dedicated HT room. We had established a budget for the finished ROOM but me hanging around here didn't help our budget at all. Without going into details, lets just say I blew the budget and it's not quite finished yet.
Except for the Hitachi HDTV, everything else was bought in 2009.

The Polk's have arrived. RTi A9's + CSi A6

The recliners have arrived...we're getting there.

Decided on banana clip 14 AWG speaker cables for all 7 speakers. The front 3 speakers are direct to the Emo amp.

The audio rack was changed because the Emo XPA-3 wouldn't fit. The rack is a VTI BL Series 4-Shelf Audio Rack.

Still missing an extra shelf for the audio rack and also the Emo ERC-1 CD player. There is also some movie posters that are being laminated and should be ready sometime in January. Also arriving in early January is a solid oak DVD rack. Note quite finished but we are getting there

The Emotiva ERC-1 CD player has arrived.

Additional shelf arrived just in time for the CD player.

Just received the first DVD / BD rack from Racks & Stands. Its made of solid oak and the only thing I had to do is screw in the two feet. It arrived fully assembled. Now that I'm sure about the quality, I just ordered another one that should arrive next week. Also started filling in the blank spaces on the walls. More to come

Moved the DVD rack to make space for the second rack that should arrive on Jan 15th or 18th and started to install the laminated posters.

Going to have to paint that door that leads to the washer / dryer room. Still more posters to come

Second rack finally arrived. Now I've got room for new BD's. Also, I've got to start doing touch ups here and there to fix several little mistakes but at least the biggest part is now done.

Ordered more movie posters and I'm having them laminated by a local store. Really need to fill up the empty spaces in the front and side areas.
Rack on the right is TV and Cinema series. Top two shelf in each racks are BD's, the rest are DVD's

Going to need another rack...soon !!!!

Having a dedicated room for movies and music was IMO the best way to go. We still have the upstairs 50" Panasonic plasma for regular TV programing and movies. This is the only room our cats are not allowed in and we also don't smoke, eat or drink in this room. We have the living room for all stuff.

Moved the SVS to the left rear

Almost done Need something on the front wall but not sure what we want. New plasma (58" or 65") and another SVS NSD are strong possibilities for 2010 and we will have to take the plasma into account when trying to decide for that front wall. Also, you could get two projector screens (one for 178:1/185:1 ratios and the other for 235/239/240:1 ratios).

Honestly, that room is crying for a projector. You have the wall for it. You install that, and you're room would be 100% perfect IMO.

Room looks very nice with good wall treatments! When you upgrade (if you haven't already), I'd really recommend a decent projector with a good zoom ratio and a screen that can fill that wall from side-to-side for "scope" films, maybe leaving a foot or so on each side for drapes if you want to go that far. Add a few more seats (as mentioned by "avncars," and you'll probably never feel the need to go out to commercial cinemas.

Wow really looks great .the Polk just demand respect don't they! The front stage look awesome. But I don't think your getting the full affect from your surrounds. May I suggests moving the seating back some or placing the L&R surrounds up closer to your seat.
