Our modest setup, a Sony KDL-52XBR4 paired with Onkyo's HTIB HT-SP908. It's nice that Onkyo included a "real" AVR since it came packaged with the TX-SR605. Surprisingly it sounds quite good for HTIB, just wish I had more than 2 HDMI inputs. Due to the living room constraints, it's only set up as 5.1 rather than 7.1. Next up is to do some wire management and tidy it up with a pack of zip ties. (Uploaded Jan 20, 2009 13:56:46)

Samsung BD-UP5000 combo player and Sony Playstation 3 40gig. The PS3 was our first Blu-ray player in January of 2008, but a few months later I stumbled on a great deal for the Samsung and figured I could move the Toshiba HD-A35 into the bedroom. Nice to bitstream the audio for both HD DVDs and BDs with the Samsung as well It also has Reon HQV processing chip but honestly, nothing compares to watching in full 1080p (Uploaded Jan 20, 2009 13:56:55)

Onkyo TX-SR605. Nothing spectacular but it does the job for us. (Uploaded Jan 20, 2009 13:57:03)

I just upgraded from those Onkyo speakers in my bedroom to Kef towers, center, and surrounds. Still using the onkyo's for rear surround and the sub till I
get it sold.

I did some home calibrating as well with DVE and my own personal preferences. I did notice that reducing ambient indoor lighting to a minimum really enhances my perceived image quality. Definitely go bigger once you're ready to upgrade, and if space and budget permits, try to get a 60"

Your 52" XBR4 is sweet! I love my 40" XBR4, but when I get my next TV, it's definitely going to be 50" or larger. Nice shots of the receiver's lossless processing. Did you ever calibrate your TV? I have done some "home" calibrating and the screen will reveal significantly more image detail after doing so.

It's very good player in my book, slick and clean looking. There are many reports of people who don't have good experiences with them, but I've never had an issue with my unit. Plays virtually every disc in both formats after updating the firmware. It is a little noisy when loading discs, but is quiet once playing. The LG BH200 is also a very good unit if you are looking for a combo player.
