Your theater and screen shots look awesome. I'm ready to go with a projector. When I lived in NY, my roommate and I had a projector set up. Would go from corner to corner. But we had a throw distance of like 12-15ft. When Its time for me to move. I will do like you did and find a space that will accommodate my needs. In my current space I would prob get 70" possibly 80". I might have to do that after having my lcd mounted on the wall. Now that I'm writing it down it doesn't seem like a bad idea. I would have to go with a pull down or motorized screen.Time to break out a projector and give it a go when I get in.

Great job! Another DIY "slap in the face" to expensive fixed screens! I've been thinking of redoing mine in 2.35 format. Might just have to get busy now.

Sadly, painting is not really an option. However, I would not use white sheets if that is what you are thinking. They would be dark blue, red, or black, I just haven't decided yet.

I recommend skipping the sheets to accentuate the screen. Buy a can of flat black paint and paint the wall. It does wonders for the room when watching a movie. White is so reflective and bright. It is more distracting than you realize. Take a look at my HT. I used flat black paint on the screen wall and ceiling. Great start to a great HT. Good luck putting it all together. Half the fun is designing it and building it. The other half the fun comes when you are done and you get to enjoy it.
