- Room Details -
The space is roughly 12.4' x 21' (8ft ceiling) with no windows
Drywall is 1/2 single ply. I really wanted double drywall w/ green glue but it just wasn't in the budget
All walls are filled with standard R-13 kraft faced insulation
Lighting consists of 4 sconces, 12 4" eyeball lights, 3 vented isle lights & rope lighting above the soffit
Soffit dimensions are 12"x6.25" with a 3" gap to the ceiling
The riser dimension is 7.5' x 6' and leaves a 32" isle by the entryway and 26" isles on the back and far side
The first row of seats is 11.5' and the second is around 17'
Oh yeah, I'm winging it and really have no idea what I'm doing

I originally wanted three connected recliners for the back row but everything I found was just too wide. Ultimately we decided on a black sofa instead. Couples like to sit back there or sometimes a row of kids.

We built a stage this year (if that's what you want to call it) that hides the speakers and allows access from the top or front.

Movie Poster Flatscreen

Around 400 movie posters rotate on this display. It's connected to an Apple Mac-Mini computer running free software from Boxee.
It runs software called HSTouch from a company called HomeSeer. I love this option because it is extremely flexible and I can design pretty much anything we want. Touch each light in the picture to turn it on/off.
A really marvelous melding of the aesthetics of an all-out theatre and an inviting area in your home. Extremely clever idea to use the vertically-mounted TV as a, 'Now Playing' marquee too. My compliments to you!
Thanks guys! yes, both the Avatar and Xmen still are stretched. I had my anamorphic lens in place for both and neither is 2.35:1. Just wanted to take up the whole screen
The iPad is pretty awesome and I love to see them put to this kind of use.
If I could afford a set-up like this, I'd be all over it. I'd imagine that the projector was the least expensive part! lol
