Ambient lighting. I know you're supposed to go with a whiter color and I did have white back there for a while, but I just loved the blue.

This sub-woofer had a $1,000 dollar MSRP. I got it for $50 when my previous employer closed shop and it was left over and it just happens to go with my speakers!

I've had dozens of high-end receivers and have always wanted a Pioneer. I finally found one for an amazing deal and had to jump!

I don't endorse Monster's high prices, but their banana plugs are very nice!

I got it for free, so the Monster haters can back off! LOL!
Wow sweet upgrades!! Did you work at an audio shop to get some of the deals you mentioned? Great choices all around. That Band of Brothers poster is awesome too.
I have to ask, what are you looking for in a receiver? Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo and Pioneer... What are they not giving you that you must have? More power, more features, etc, etc? I know we all have the upgrade bug but damn dude.. What gives?
fist: those AVRs.....WOW! those things are massive.....and sexy. and both are look like they're very capable of doing anything you'd need.
second: that monster power unit. again, WOW! i have a monster power unit as well, but i have the small one. looking at that one, i may just have to upgrade. that has way more inputs than mine. i've got all mine full and still have to use a power strip for a couple other things.
you certainly have some great gear. and about your first picture with the caption ".....overkill" there's no such thing as overkill (:p).
Nice setup! Those Monster cables are actually really nice, with the pants, sleeving and banana plugs and everything.. The only thing not nice about monster is always the price tag of course. BUT if you can get really nice cables for dirt cheap, or better yet free, then why not!!
One question though.. do you use your floorstanders as surrounds?
I can bet, if you had paid money for those cables, your brain would be hearing all sorts for "extra" detail compared to your older wires. This is the sorta thing that happens to people who spend crap loads of money on "high end" cables. To justify the purchase the brain fools itself into thinking there's something extra there. In reality, there's nothing extra there...
Love your honesty and great setup. Polk Audio all the way.
Very nice setup and cool A/V gear,i like your Polk speaker package and the front speaker stands look very sturdy, also your T.V and audio equipment units are awsome.
