This is my mediocre set-up until I can build me a nice theatre with some decent equipment. The TV is an Hitachi 42" plasma. The surround
system is an old-school 7.1 Yamaha. Works, but not the best and no HDMI input.
Surrounding the TV and equipment are a bunch of my nick-nacks. Elephant statue, Batmobile from Tim Burton's Batman, Mr. Bean
bobblehead, "No Evil" Monkeys, Anne Gedde's Tiger Baby, Cloud & his Fenrir, Tiger statue

The reason for this site of course. As of today I have 178 movies on blu-ray, but that's nowhere near where I'm stopping

Hard to get a good shot from in front of the TV, even with wide-angle, so this'll have to do. Only a 6.1
speaker system is set-up. The elephant
painting, known as "The Power Of One" is one of my all time fave paintings. The couch is a recliner (of
course) on both ends.
On the bulkhead that surrounds the ceiling of the living room, are 500 of my DVDs. This condo is too
small to house my entire collection, so the rest are sitting in boxes until I can figure out what to do with
the suckers.

The little "dog pillow" in the middle of the floor is a sit-in coffee table. I have no dog.

Edit: I've been getting a lot of questions about the DVD storage on the bulkhead, so I'll just have you know that I installed the shelving with the help from my dad. It was all my idea though. Some said it wouldn't work. I proved them wrong. Mwahahaha

The Yamaha RXV1400. No HDMI but 7.1 ya, you figure it out. I have no idea either.
The little thing on the right of the receiver is a broken Dare Devil bobblehead. Had it on a speaker, watched a
loud rockin' movie. Won't do that again.
PS3 is the original launch 60 GB version, still going strong with no issues.

A really old Hitachi VCR, a Samsung DVD-recorder, and a Scientific Atlanta HD PVR

Here's the new set up.. now the wall looks more empty after removing that huge wall-hugging unit I had before. Would love to have kept it, but the width on the inside would not allow the Pioneer to sit in there nicely.

Just over 6 ft... really looks like a theatre screen when all the lights are off... I love it!

Not as big... less room to put.... things. Still have to figure out what to do with all the collectables and trinkets I had previously! Need shelving!

Opened the curtain to let some natural light in. It's hard to photograph the bright TV... the lighting in my condo sucks! lol

Decided to update my gallery with the new couch! Nice and roomy... very comfortable for stretching out on and watching the Pioneer.

All that gear is nice, cool and all that - but what makes your H.T. for me, is the overall relaxing and comfy feel and atmosphere ! and that tiger ! 10/10 ! Keep it up !

Nice Kuro, I actually liked the wall unit you had before. But the new setup looks nice and clean with the bigger TV. Makes it look a lot more roomier and leaves room for possible speaker upgrades in the future! :-)

haha no, it was all my idea. Saw the lower ceiling when I moved in, got the idea for DVD storage right away. Bought a bunch of wooden shelves from IKEA, had my brother stain them (he's a woodworker) and my dad and I cut them and bolted them to the wall. Everybody loves it. Thanks
