Let's see...I had IQ7's...the IQ2s...IQ6 in my bedroom for a couple months before I decided I needed something that didn't take up so much space (plus it was
overkill for size of my bedroom). Loved those speakers...went with Mirage in my living room though since I got a good deal on it. Your couch is just like mine
and I see you have the matching chair & ottomon that I might pick up later on. 10/10.

Beautiful! I love your set-up. 10 out of 10. Just a small comment - Have you considered a longer and darker center equipment cabinet? With your awesome screen, the small cabinet looks out of place. Moving the Sub closer to one of the corners and with a longer (and shorter height-wise) cabinet, the center speaker would give off less reflection from the screen and balance the front aesthetics much more. Check out Eddie Nyce's cabinet.

i am using the lens control function of the panasonic to zoom to different aspect ratios. it is incredibly useful and the zoomed image looks just as detailed. the impact of viewing cinemascope material on a 2.35 screen cannot be overstated. in a word, it is overwhelming. authentic movie experience at home. image and sound quality surpass most movie theaters.

Very nice. Are you "zooming" for the 2.35 material or running a lens? I had the 2900 dvd player and it was a really nice piece of equipment. I sold it and had a 5900 for about two years. Was sad to let it go.

Beautiful room and furnishings. Nice equipment list. THANK YOU for bi-wiring! I can't believe how many miss this obvious upgrade. Photos are great and have good lighting. Is that Coaster furniture? How do you like the River Cable compared to others (e.g. KimberKable, AudioQuest, Tara Labs etc.)? I haven't gotten to try any of it. It's fairly new to me and didn't see it at CEDIA last month.

The KEF's have a smoother, less sibilant treble, can image with greater depth and breadth, and generally are far more musical than the polks. They are smaller, less imposing, have a better build quality, and are simply higher in detail and fidelity than the polks as well. An order of magnitude better in my opinion. I am extremely happy with them. Incidentally, before i went with this setup but after i sold the polks, i bought a 5.1 axiom audio setup based on the m80ti floorstanders. I sent them back as i was disappointed in the build quality and lack of musicality. My current setup is extremely satisfying.

You have made my curious to demo a Yamaha again, i am thinking of upgrading my receiver to the Denon 3808 or Denon 4308...i will have to revisit Yamaha
..but indeed it is all about one's personal preference and what that individual considers their sweet spot...

Great question. the surrounds are mounted intentionally high in order to diminish their intrusiveness into the room and minimize their effect on the nice 10 foot cieling height. i dont subscribe to the strict speaker distances that some may impose in order to "maintain the artistic vision of the director". With modern dsp and equalization, i find the the diffuse nature of dipoles makes their placement very flexible. As to the mixture of brands, i did have the denon avr-3808ci and returned as i was dissatisfied with the sound and interactivity. i find the yamaha to have a far more pleasing sound to me.

Looking good ,but I think your rear surrounds are to high...But you do have very nice equipment..but you have all that nice Denon equip. and why did you chose a yamaha rec...Just asking..
