Paradigm PW-2200 added into the mix for balance

2nd row from the bottom will be moved into the closet in the main room.

managed to do a lil cable management...tied down the main HDMI to projectors since
everything with the projector is solid. 01.13.2012

this room is still in progress still everything is connected....so its a mess.
but wire management will be in affect shortly after i get the rest of my gear,
cabling, and such.

axiom was a real nice touch for the bigger room. the polk was just to small for the space. the paradigm filled in voids big time and now there is bass everywhere. not to mention it shaking the seats from 15ft away with the help of the eD350 of course but the 350 couldn't handle the whole room by itself. i need duals. i am switch out at a later time to HSU subs and run dual 15s. for now i have a pair of QS8s inbound which should help the rears out. thanks for checking out the gallery!

@rpatt - i got no regrets...i love the 7000...it has tons of control. the key is some hours spent on calibration. at minimum spears & munsil cal disc....it tends to push red. so i spent hours calibrating each pic mode. but i've adjusted to only watching in cinema 1 now. the detail is great. the screen shots i have are just a point and click...no tripod....no long exposure...simple quick pick. if i could take pictures in the dark...i'm sure it would look even better than what i show, if i knew hour to spend time taking good pics in low light and such. but its a great unit...great in 3D....great in 2D. i didn't think it was be as good as it was to be honest. another nice feature is when you get ghosting in 3d...you get fine tune it and make it disappear. this one will last me a while unlike my old RS40.

Ratings have been enabled for those that weren't able to submit. Thanks again. Still continuing on the quest for more upgrades, while trying to avoid the wife throwing me out of the house. Axiom QS8s and then some M80 for the Front Stage are my next things I'm looking to upgrade...though I must say...the DCMs sound great and perform great as well. I can't say they are lacking any. 1" tweet, 6.5" mid-range, 10 or 12" sub in there. All in all....they sound balanced after EQing....in comparison to the axiom audio center. its more of a soft/warm sound. The DCMs just want to play. But i've very pleased with the overall balance at the moment. So the QS8s I think would really make a difference in rear sound. I'm sure the M80s will sound different too...bigger midrange with all those speakers. I feel like right now I can benefit more from the QS8s. All will come.

Riser Built, Padded, Carpet the day before superbowl. 2.4.2012 Just aquired my new bluray player an Oppo 93. Arrives 2.17.2012. Next I will be looking to aquire some QS8 surrounds....followed by some floorstanding M80s. The DCMs are currently keeping up just fine but i think there can be huge improvement with the QS8s plus some acoustic panels.

Thanks guys. Scope screen was a giant debate from the beginning. I ended up on a 16:9 screen for now. This is mainly because we currently watch tv on it as well as game and then of course movies. This screen will not be my last. I was debating on a panamorph lens for later down the road or scope and using the zoo Memory on the panny. A 130" to 140" scope would have looked nice. I was advised against it at the time. TKNice was all for it. Based on use I d more for 16:9. Avatar 3D on this screen kicks major a$$. Very impressive disc. But the zoom out to fit on a scope screen was a big debate. I was all for it in the beginning. Since I have a 16:9 now. I will definitely try a 2.35 screen next.

finally got my plasma connected in the mix....not quite the like most projector/plasma combos....since the plasma is hung on the room behind it. but its connected to everything the projector and can do. in case i want to game and not use the projector. i have a yamaha 6.1 receiver just sitting around that I may connect with some polk satellites that are also laying around. so that way the room has surround too. but all the video signals are being sent from from the dual outs on the pre/pro. loving that feature.

@prerich - i'm still tweaking the sound. i ran Audyssey MultEQ XT yesterday night. The DCMs are very power hungry and powerful...I think I need to tone the DCMs down a bit and turn up the center channel. however....i immediately notice a difference in sound when plugging the Polk CSi30 and pluggin in the Axiom. I would say the axiom is a soft tone speaker. But it can fill my room now easily. I believe the DCMs are running a little hot and the center is running a little under. so i'll start with the audyssey calibration and tonight...i'll work on smoothing it out. The DCMs will be phased out in the not too distant future. during calibration you can hear how powerful they can be in comparison to the center channel when it runs its test tones. i don't feel audyssey is really plug n play. i let it set the EQ, distance, phase and timing and such. But it doesn't always get it right. I've run it 3 different times and get 3 difference settings. the room is very large with lots of reflection and echoeing so i need to work on reducing that and i think that will help with the DCMs. but paying for the art/designer acoustic panels is not cheap and when from screen to back wall is 34 ft deep....there are lots o walls to cover with that stuff.

Axiom Audio VP150 v3 Center Channel installed 1.30.12 Axiom Audio QS8 Surrounds due next in March followed by Axiom M80s for tax season so far...the sound is amazing over the polk...the polk was just too small for the room. this definitely gives a big more definitive sound as far as voice goes for a center channel. the polk csi30 actually now sounds great in the family room...perfect size for it. more updated pics to come with a real camera. and some movie decor to the basement as well. just passing a month and half of being moved in and loving it!

ordered Axiom Audio VP150 on 1.23.12. should be here later half of th e week. can't wait to hear the new center channel. should help with dialogue in the large room. the polk CSi30 is just to small....it does ok but it could be improved upon...i'll use the CSi30 in my family instead which should be plenty.

thanks guys....more great things to come shortly here. have some Intimus 6-DTs coming for my ceiling for the rear surrounds to bump up to 7.1. and some Axiom QS8s to replace my rear polk monitors. electrician is finishing the job with me on the 20th with networking and running cables and such. which should lead into saturday and my beginning of building my row 2 riser.

@namtab69 - excellent 2D....the 3D is better than the JVC RS40. i don't need 3D all the time...but for certain movies it works well. Its just another medium in film to me if done right. so i went with the panny and i'm not looking back. clearly an excellent choice. with a S&M disc to calibrate....it will definitely help. i can clearly see the difference between the 2 projectors. i'm still working on the cozy part but its definitely getting there. I have a small eating area behind the 2nd row and riser to build. walls to paint still and art to display. but every day its feeling more and more like home. thanks for all the great comments! more pics and new gear to come.

djflex40...i take it you rated me the 8 or whatever. i just moved in the house 2 weeks ago...i have just begun. if you read my comments i am on the search for a center channel. so take it easy....i'm getting one...i had a small speaker stand that my 1.5yr old knocks over and almost dented the freshly painted wall. did you really think i was going to leave it like that? common. i don't even have my rear speakers installed yet. its still under construction so take it easy.

thanks TK.... my dad said he had a copy in his hands a couple days ago. 40 bucks at best buy. he just bought a 3dtv...i ordered him a few pairs of glasses for xmas and a 3d player....but he didn't have any movies. he said i'll just go back there and buy it. and i said the 3d version and he said yes. 3d copy, 2d copy, dvd, and digital....he's like i don't want all that. i said its worth it for the 3 disks. i just played uncharted 3 in 3d....not bad. still ghosting in the cutscenes....but over all very nice. watched kung fu panda 2 in 3d...that was great!!!!!! How to train dragon on 3d...and pirates 4. i think once i get the room painted and all furniture in...i will use my dads SLR and tripod to capture pics. i'm not great with capping pics but i'll do more proper ones once i get everything set and completed. right now i just wanted to get things up....i need a decent center channel stand that my kids won't knock over....and i'll prolly mod it to angle upwards.

My goal for this room is to have a Home Theater....however...I wanted it to flow in like the rest of the house. While its completely light controlled. Still feel homey....and not like a dungeon. Not something that I just added on. Since we use a lot of neutrals throughout the house as you go down to the basement...its just another part of the house. My favorite part...but a nice warm place to kick back and watch a movie. AVATAR in 3D was freaking amazing is all I'm gonna say as far as this projector is concerned.

So current work is painting anything mint green to the same tan color that the back wall is. but before i paint since i have some speaker arrangement and placements to make...i won't paint till that happens. So...i tried to get some screen caps...and i suck at it. none of these do it justice. So currently I need to run one more HDMI cord under the carpet...I got a flat HMDI coming this week and we need to run the rear speakers...having trouble deciding how to set my rear 2 up. i'm thinking 2 surrounds on the side walls and perhaps 2 more for 7.1 goodness above the rear seating section. The equipment room is about 60% complete...will get to cable management once everything is hooked up. its slowly getting there....i really want these rear speakers installed so I can move on to paint and complete the room. I have done some S&M calibration and saved a few different combos. calibrated on REC 709. D-CINE, and Dynamic...which was probably the hardest to do. I have some remote programming to do to access those off the fly and some othe adjustments that I want.
