I do have some reflections but until I get a dedicated room, it's the best it will get. As for the rug, it's a high pile rug which actually helps a lot, without it, the reflections from the hardwood are just crazy. It does match the decor since it's red, black and cream but now that you mention it it does look a bit 70s 
It does sound great, at least to me 
but it did sound better before when I used to have carpet.
