I have received alot of questions regarding the name of my theater and what Sankara means. My favorite movie growing up was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The artifacts in the movie are the fabled Sankara Stones. While trying to come up with a name for my theater I tried to find a name that was derived from Hollywood Cinema. I had this sign made so that when it is turned on and the light shines through it resembles the Sankara stones when they are brought together and the diamonds glow.

Nice inexpensive Haier refrigerator.

Blu-Ray and DVD collection. On top of the case are all of the artifacts from the Indiana Jones films minus the Ark of the Covenant. It was to large for the theater. On the left is the Chacapoyan idol from Raiders. Beside it is a replica of the Crystal skull. Next is the Holy Grail replica. It was hand made in malta from Israeli clay. Next is a Grail diary from the Last Crusade. The urn is from Temple of doom and houses the ashes of Nurhachi. There is also the eye of the peacock which was the diamond Indy traded with Lao Che for the urn. And last on the shelf are the three Sankara stones from temple.

Star Wars and Indiana Jones are the movies I watched as a kid that created this home theater addiction I have today. I of course grew up on the Old Star Wars trilogy. I enjoy the prequel trilogy just as much. I like these Drew Struzan posters the best of the six.

The columns, base board and crown molding were added this weekend. March 24th 2012

Paradigm center channel

Paradigm rear firing 10" sub. My room is 26' from the rear to the projector screen. It is fifteen feet wide. It is a large space for a sub to fill and this Paradigm subwoofer does an amazing job.

I had a difficult time finding the right decor for the fire place mantle. This is what I am going with for now. I made the Captain America shield out of an old satellite dish. Thor's hammer was given to me by a friend who is also a member of Blu-ray.com. The WW II Captain America helmet is a hand painted WW II metal helmet.

I removed the posters on the front wall and added a diamond in their place. The reflection was very distracting. This is a much better alternative.

Hey Beaverlid - thats an awesome set-up you have there - I'm working on a designated Home Theatre room at the moment - I hop it comes out as good as yours did! On the topic of the Avengers bluray, I'm in South Africa, so it seems that it was released here earlier than in the states (our date of release was the 27th of August). I had preordered a copy online from one of our local online stores - so I received it a couple days after it came in stock. In terms of Sound and Video quality - let me just say this: I picked up the DVD/Bluray combo - the DVD quality is so good - its like watching an older bluray! If thats anything to go by - then the Bluray is something else! Its great in 7.1 and the visuals really pop.. at times - the close ups are flawless!

Thanks for your comment mate! My side walls are so close to the screen I couldn't really aford having a brighter colour. I thought I would regret painting the room so dark (after all, it's not a basement) but it looks quite alright, the phone camera does not really do it justice. I really like those new columns, very nice touch. That and the paint make such a difference compared to your first pictures. I reckon you must be looking forward to Indiana Jones coming out soon… I have been postponing watching them all again for way too long. Can't wait. Take care now!

I thank you all for your fine compliments. I started building home theater's when I was a kid. At least I called a 19" television with a turn click dial for the channels, a vcr and a stereo with two speakers my home theater back then. I have gradually learned to build a bigger and better Home Theater with each attempt. After 20 years this is my best one to date. I designed the entire theater and installed it myself. I'd say its a matter of weeks until you are on the top HT list on this site. You have an amazing set up. You have done wonders with that room! I hope you enjoy it to the fullest!....as a side question, do you experience distracting bass differences from seat to seat? It looks like your room is fairly large so you would avoid/reduce those, but I am curious.

Thanks Televue! This was a comprimise I had to make because of the duct that runs down the center of the room. It turned out pretty good. I recently upgraded my projector. The new one in this picture is far more flexible and I will be able to ceiling mount it soon. Thanks for looking.
