New Cabinet and NHT Speakers

The new audio cabinet houses the center channel and subwoofer. A custom mounted LCD panel to control Computer will be installed this week inside the cabinet. (Uploaded May 03, 2009 22:28:18)

NHT speakers

All front, centers and subwoofer are from NHT line circa 1995. These sound very good. I was trying to convince myself that the yamaha speakers originally in the theater were of the same sound quality as the NHT. The yamaha speakers were slightly below average, the NHT line is pretty good, B&W-Paradigm reference-Revel are well above excellent. But I want to stay married so I'll stick with my NHT's. NHT 1.3A

Very good bookshelf speaker for the price. I can't speak for the new line of NHT, but these sound great. (Uploaded May 03, 2009 22:29:02)

Theater

The theater in back is a custom built bar with theater bar stools to match the chairs in front. This way you could literally eat dinner and watch a show. I can't take credit for this idea (obviously many people are doing it now), but I saw an ad for RUNCO and they had a bar in the back. Downside is it sits on cereamic tile (not good for sound reverb), but who cares - it looks good. (Uploaded Feb 28, 2009 17:20:02)

Back of the equipment rack. We have a storage area just in back of the theater, so I made a quick access door to equipment. More important is the opening serves as a way for the heat to escape. (Uploaded Feb 28, 2009 17:20:14)

Emotiva

Everyone at this forum and every other review that I've read gave a big thumbs up emotiva amps. The UPA-2 powers my fronts and an Onkyo amp powers both centers. I have two powered subs. One NHT and the other an Infinity IL120 **GET ONE OF THESE INFINITYS IF YOU CAN** AMAZING BASS. the sides and rears are powered by my Yamaha so my AVR dosn't really get that hot. I love this emotiva amp. Anyone that tells you that there is a better 2 channel amp is absolutely right. Anyone that tells you there is a better amp for the price, they are dead wrong. At $269 this is a steal.

Forgive me for saying but wouldn't 2 center channels cancel out each other for the person sitting between the 2 speakers. I'm not an audio engineer but I do know a few things about sound and how it travels. My suggestion is add a second sub and place one speaker in middle for center to keep balanced look. Other than this perfection at its best.

I could kiss you (not in *that* kind of way though!) I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a way to add a 2nd row of seating in my HT, but since I have a low ceiling height, a riser is pretty much out of the question... A BAR!! Brilliant! *grabs some 2x4s*

You'r Home Theater is just awesome looking, very upscale, and love the color scheme. You'r idea of the EQ are is really cool. And Dual center channel's. very smart. I had the Marantz AV600 THX Pros. 12 years ago and it actually had dual center channel outputs , so you could put one above & below the screen, not many pepole ever do this though. ALL in ALL you got a 10 rating , Great job well done.
