screen is 110'' and amazing clarity in darkness and does very well in moderate light as well.. record storage is now full Equipment is located in a rack in the equipment room to keep noise and cabling down.. keeps everything nice and clean.. player is located below the screen for ease of use and all outlets and equipment are powered by the power conditioners in the rack.. no power strips or surge systems visible here everything is controlled with a harmony 890 and soon will switch to whole home ipad control.

the window now has blackout curtains as well as the blinds and it can become completely dark when needed

note the outlet for flat panel, will be purchasing a 40'' led soon, screen drops automatically when projector is used. all outlets are power bridged back to the rack

the new rack as it is now, still need a lot of rack shelves and have to build the glass insert door.. 36 space with 4 server rack cooling fans..

Machine room, currently under construction, the stand holding the monitor also houses the equipment for zones 2,3 and 4 until they can be rack mounted..

conduit everywhere.. not to mention speaker cable, cat5e, and coax..

Kevon, I love the way they sound. they are very accurate to my ears, the aren't cold sounding but are not overly warm either. they do demand power though, they are a 6ohm speaker so they like more juice than a lot of consumer speakers, they never sound strained though. i really wanted the fluid cooled tweeters because my studio monitors have them as well and man are they crisp.. the 2870s are some big speakers lol that's one of the reasons i went with the 1870s, that and i think single drivers blend better to my ears..

Brother, please tell me how do the PRO1870LCR's sound? I've been looking at the PRO2870 for awhile even though the price is good, I was not sure of the sound quality. I was only able to find one review from Sound and Vision.

It is actually a carvin half, and I really like it. it really lets the tone from the amp come through and doesn't sound muddy like vintage 30s can. so its great with a tube front end, however with an all digital rack it can feel sterile.

I got those mounts on amazon, they are actually component shelf wall mounts. they will hold just about whatever you want to put on them.

They are actually horizontally mounted monitor 40s , though they are more or less the same as a CS1 center.. they really hold their own for surround duty, i could swear they are used as much as the fronts

nice try don't have to convince me though.. that rack is set up for 4 pro amps and has 3 dedicated 20amp circuits and the option for 240v... I just have a few other things to get for the theater first..

diggin' the built-in blu-ray shelves. that's what i wanna do with mine as soon as i can build a permanent home theater. i like the rear surround supports as well. i almost bought those same shelves for a different purpose but went in a different direction. very well done. nice and clean.

currently the component rack and equipment room is under renovation, haha as in I pulled the old avr already and wires are everywhere... I will post pictures once the new AVR is installed..

What a great HT! Love the built in bookcases, screen comes down automatically!!!!!! The 40" sounds like a great idea for when you just need to catch up on some sports or news and don't have to do a full blown projector setup.

Yea, I have had the papasan chairs for quite awhile as well as the futon.. They are nice; however, I intend on getting a nice couch and a couple chairs soon. the futon is great and a very nice one but the springs don't like to be folded so it tends to unfold and it just doesn't have the refined look I am heading toward.

Nice setup! Great to see another Polk owner. : ) It must be great having a screen and projector. I had a papasan chair once but it was replaced with my wife's chair and a half. Can't complain much though, the chair and a half is really comfy. Really great jon on the HT. Love the colors and clean layout.
