I read a lot of books on film criticism, screenplays, have a lot of books that deal with filmmaking to the industry itself. Even auteur-based books. But for everyone who really wants to get into cinema, I definitely recommend reading your favorite books of your director's to also searching out books that deal with a genre or film period that you are interested in.
