I prefer actual, tangible buttons on my remotes as opposed to touchscreens, so I use the remote supplied with the Emotiva UMC-1 processor to control my system. It's crafted from a solid piece of billet aluminum, and it's good to know that it could probably serve a secondary purpose as a blunt instrument in a pinch! Uploaded Dec 29, 2011 23:26:52
The REL T5 subwoofer, which REL describes as a sub-bass system. This subwoofer connects to the front left and right channels on the amplifier, as well as the LFE effects output on the processor...an interesting approach that produces effective bass response down to 23hz with only an 8' woofer and seamlessly integrates the bass with the entire system. Note the plinth of the Bowers and Wilkins 683 tower speaker (on factory spikes) to the left and in front of the REL T5. Uploaded Dec 29, 2011 22:28:02

REL goodness. The Brits indeed design excellent speakers. Uploaded Dec 29, 2011 22:29:42

The Salamander Synergy 20 rack open to reveal the main componenets of my system. On the left sits an Oppo BDP-95 universal disc player and a Monster Cable MP HTS 2600 MKII Reference power conditioner. To the right sits an Emotiva UMC-1 processor/controller and an Emotiva UPA-5 amplifier (5 x 125 WPC @ 8 ohms). I extol the Emotiva price to perfomance ratio whenever I find the opportunity. Their products are simple to use, yet refined and built solidly. Uploaded Dec 29, 2011 23:26:26

The Oppo BDP-95 universal disc player: what else can I say other than in my experience, it's the best disc player on the market. I have it installed atop rubber aftermarket isolation feet...a quick tweak that reaps countless rewards in combating vibration. Uploaded Dec 29, 2011 23:26:36
The Emotiva UMC-1 processor/controller. I consider this unit's ease of use and incredible sound quality the hallmarks of a true audiophile component. It also rests on aftermarket rubber isolation feet to control vibration and resonance. Uploaded Dec 29, 2011 23:26:42
The Emotiva UPA-5 amplifier boasts five channels of amplification, each rated at 125 wats into 8 ohm loads. This amp has tremendous headroom, produces a ridiculously low noise floor, and exerts finesse and packs a wallop when needed. Uploaded Dec 29, 2011 23:26:47

I've purchased some new components to upgrade my home theater, one of them being the Furman Elite-15PFi power conditioner. Uploaded Jul 18, 2012 23:13:46
Another new addition: the Marantz CD6004 dedicated CD player. For the price, it outperforms most others in its class, and uses the same DAC as the entry level player in the Marantz Reference line. Even though my Oppo BDP-95 plays CDs and files from a flash drive or external hard drive, it is not compatible with iDevices, hence the need for the Marantz, which accepts playback or music files from my iPad. I now use the Oppo and its reference DACs for dedicated music listening (SACDs, FLAC files, etc.) and the Marantz more for convenience listening (flash drives, iPad, etc.) Uploaded Jul 18, 2012 23:15:10

Note the hospital-grade outlets on the back of the Furman Elite-15PFi. I'm amazed at the considerably quieter noise floor that this power conditioner produces as compared to my old Monster Cable conditioner. The difference is night and day between the two. Uploaded Jul 18, 2012 23:25:34
Some new AudioQuest cable upgrades, including three pairs of Golden Gate interconnects (for internal decoding of high-definition movie soundtracks to run from the Oppo BDP-95 analog audio outputs to my Emotiva processor); Rocket 33 bi-wire speaker cables for the front three channels (B&W 683s and HTM61); a NRG-2 power cable (to power the Furman Elite-15PFi power conditioner); and a Forest USB cable to run from my iPad to the Marantz CD6004 for playback of downloaded music and Internet radio stations). I have now successfully purged my system of all Monster Cable products (much to my delight). Uploaded Jul 18, 2012 23:33:34
The new Golden Gate interconnects outputting from the 7.1 channel analog audio outputs of the Oppo BDP-95 to the Emotiva UMC-1 processor (I'm only utilizing 5.1 channels at this time). The Emotiva does decode lossless high-definition soundtracks via HDMI input, but I prefer the analog sound quality provided by the lossless internal decoding of the Oppo and its Sabre Refefrence 32-bit DACs. Note the PS Audio Punch power cable upgrade on the Oppo BDP-95 in the lower-right-hand corner of the photograph. Uploaded Jul 18, 2012 23:36:26

I continue to enjoy the Panasonic TH-50PZ850U 50” 1080P plasma HDTV. It was Panasonic's top-of-the-line model several years ago, yet its performance continues to shine compared with current models in my opionion. Uploaded Jul 18, 2012 23:44:36

I removed the silver trim from my Emotiva components and actually prefer this cleaner, more austere appearance. Ratings
