BD and DVD Cases (3 photos)Movie Library - Yes! It's four bookcases wide!Uploaded Mar 20, 2009 03:48:48
Here is a look at my DVD / BD collection. This is the wall opposite from the 52-inch 1080p Sharp Aquos
(behind the sofa and sofa table). That's King Kong on top of the cases along with a metal bridge for my Lionel train set (I only use the trains during Christmas). The Left and Right rear Sony speakers rest on top of the cases. A side view of the four movie library bookcasesUploaded Mar 20, 2009 03:49:01
The wine glasses on the top far case have to go. I need the space for more movies. Two of the bottom shelves contain the entire DVD sets of
Star Trek TOS, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise. I have light only on the top row of all four bookcases. These are the Billy bookcases found at IKEA. Although glass doors are available as an option, I prefer to keep the DVDs and BDs exposed for easy access. View from the sofa facing the 52-inch Sharp AquosUploaded Mar 20, 2009 03:49:21
The 52-inch Sharp Aquos is flanked by a 100-Watt Sony subwoofer on the floor (to the left) and a storage ottoman on the side. I
originally had two matching ottomans (place on either side), but I had no where else to place the woofer. There are two IKEA Pax storage cabinets on the left and right. The front Left and Right Bose speakers are on top. Not clearly seen is the Sony middle speaker. It is placed behind the Aquos. Also behind the LCD is the Sony Playstation (it is on the right side). The odd-looking thing on the right side of the table stand in front of the screen is an iPod doc. Did you spot the Wii? Other equipment on the stand are a DVD/VCR player (never used), another DVD player that does a good job upconverting the oldray DVDs, and (of course) the main a/v receiver (a Sony). It does a beautiful job, but it is not one of the newest models. One day I will upgrade the a/v receiver. The Left and Right rear Sony speakers are on top of the movie library bookcases (behind the sofa). That black bar seen on the right is part of my treadmill (I use it a lot, but it does not look right in this room). There is also a lot of junk I need to clean off the shelf over the LCD. Eh.. it's all fun stuff. My screen is not purple. My camera caused the color shift and made Will Smith look like an eggplant. The Monsters: Top Left is King Ghiddrah (from the TOHO Godzilla films); Top Right is the Ymir from Ray Harryhausen's 20 Million Miles to Earth. Both monsters are from X-Plus. Ratings
