Updated basic AV gears info (Nov 2011):

*Screen size: Elite (Fixed Screen) 110"

Here are the latest images of my dedicated HT. It's temporary put on hold as my projector screen order is expected to arrive before Christmas. Work will resume in Jan 2011. Hopefully by first quarter I can complete the whole HT.

Basic information:
*7.2 setup (planning for 9.2)

I will list out the complete AV gear details after completion.

The cove LED light isn't installed yet. The bottom portion of the back wall is still exposed.

The left side of the door is wrongly done. The supplier needs to replace it before I can do the sound treatment. There are still some left over work at the top of the door.

Currently waiting for my projector screen. I'm using a temporary "plain wood" screen. The front wall still need to be fixed properly.

My new HT construction has started in late April in conjunction with my house construction (hence causing the delay). Carpenters working on the wall framing & riser. 23rd April 2010. Target of accomplishment is in August 2010.

Here you can see the Rockwool (rigid fiberglass) installation together with the speaker cable piping.

Awesome setup. I have setup a few extra speakers on occasion. Which movies do you recommend when listening to 7.1+? Or is the difference when using movies that are in 7.1 versus 5.1? I setup 14.1 for the Avengers and that was awesome.

Hi Televue, yes you can still have a PJ system in your small space or room. I have a friend whose HT size is about the same as yours or even smaller. With the given distance, your PJ screen size max will be at around 90" widescreen. 90" will still look better than a regular 50" TV. All the best Televue.

Thanks jjmbxkb. The front wide speakers provide a wider sound stage. Depending on the movie source, certain movies have profound effect.

Hi zykelmyg, thanks for the comment. There is a cover for the AV rack where all the lights won't been seen. Currently it is removed as I fiddle a lot with the equips. I agree, a clean stage (all equipment are hidden) is preferable. However, due to space constraint the screen/wall can't be pull out from the back wall. In fact I feel the front row is too near the screen & is not the ideal viewing distance. Given the available room size, I just have to make the best use of it.

Very nice room - there's just one thing I don't understand. You made such a big effort in building the room, why didn't you pull the screen/wall 1 m / 1 yard out from the back wall, and then hide all the equipment behind it. Of course screen and closet doors should be sound transparent. Then you would have a totaly clean stage, without any lights or other disurbing things?
