Close up of the brushed-metal face plate (and gratuitous BDP-83 moniker ). This is a really nice feature of the Oppo BDP-83 that really adds nothing to the playback ability, but it definitely adds a more elegant look and feel to the design.

Overhead front shot of the gear on the entertainment stand. The center is an Elemental Designs custom-made center speaker A6-6T6-MTM (6.5" mid-driver / 1" dome tweeter / 6.5" mid-driver). Suffice it to say, this one-of-a-kind speaker is not in the web-site's speakers directory. Oh and it's 8" tall, 35" wide, dual ported, 6 ohm, 91 dbs RMS, and has a slanted back designed for the specific purpose of fitting on the shelf under my TV.

Much better looking IMO Not that the silver / white trim was awful looking, but this is more aesthetically pleasing

Thanks B. Hulk and to everyone else who has left such kind words. It wasn't all that long ago when "any old receiver was good enough", and "any DVD player was the same as the next." I feel I've learned a lot on this site, and I've come a long way. These upgrades are but only a few that I've done in the last year (not pictured: dual eD A2-300's, new front soundstage - eD A6-6T6 line, and Sony KDL52-4100 LCD TV).
