Thank you so much for the kind words on my Memorabilia gallery sk33tr! We've been slowly building up our collection for a while now. I am a huge Disney fan for a while. My wife has become one since we meant. I would love to put everything out but just don't have enough room.
Thx for the comment & don't worry about being a Bears fan its cool i was raised to be a Steeler fan love that team plus there really popular out here in Hawaii! you got a pretty sweet Star Wars collection as well very nice R2D2, as for my PEZ collection bout that years ago never opened it either plus i have a bigger Darth Vader PEZ dispenser!
Hi buddy, I like your setup. It looks clean and the cables were well managed, something that got my atention was the SHOWING NOW stand, I loved it too.
Thanks for the kind words. I've worked at a few electronics retailers over the past few years so I've picked up more gadgets than I probably, normally would. I used to have that same Monster HDP1800 that you're running, but I quickly upgraded as I filled all the outlets as soon as I brought the unit home. HA HA!!! I also had an HDP2500, which was probably good enough for me, but I was able to get my 7000 series for a pretty good price, so I took the plunge.
I also really like your "Now Showing" display. I wouldn't mind adding one of those to my HT setup. And that sub woofer looks mean as hell too!!! And you can't go wrong with Harmon Kardon. I'd have loved to test drive one of those, but none of my work places ever sold the brand.
new a/v rack will be here tuesday (along with some new blu-rays...including lotr extended editions box set.) i get off work early on wednesday so i'll try to get some pics up later this week.
DO NOT FEEL THAT WAY!!! None of them will make you feel like that either, everyone over there are some of the coolest peeps on the forum or any other forum. You have a nice setup and you have idea's that will/may help others. soo come on over and create a thread.
Come to this part of the forum:
http://forum.blu-ray.com/home-theater-galleries
and create you a thread, it's the most active part of the forum.
It's alot better then posting and keeping up with this part of the forum,
I mean you can do both, but the link is better. You already have your pics posted.
yeah brownouts are nasty. they're just as bad as a direct hit by lightning. with the intensity of storms where i live, we lose power on a pretty good average. but the power company here is pretty good about being quick to fix it. i'm surprised i've never had a direct hit with the amount of lightning we get with storms here. the only trouble i've ever had with lightning is when it hit real close to me and somehow it fried my old satellite receiver. that thing got fried and it smelled pretty bad. i'm surprised it didn't fry my whole system since all i had it plugged into was a standard surge protector strip. after the satellite receiver got hit, i changed out the surge protector for a better one. of course now with the monster power i get surge protection AND line conditioning.
I'm using that same power conditioner in my bedroom, and it has saved my system a couple times. I bought my home over a year ago, and before that I didn't have the monster power. Well with the new house, I happen to have it and connected it up, it saved me then. Instead of going into details, have you ever heard of a brownout? It's when you have low power and it will burn out any equipment. Since the house didn't have much connected, I couldn't tell the power was low.
when the aforementioned a/v rack gets in, i'm gonna put the center on the top shelf so it'll be closer to the center of the seating position. the only reason i put it where it is is because i didn't have any other place to put it. with the ps3 having a curved top (or side, depending on how you look at it), i didn't trust the speaker being on top of there. plus, magnets and hard drives don't mix well. so on the new rack the center will be just below the tv.
plus, i'll be hiding the wires in the walls. and being in Alabama in the middle of june, that means it ain't gonna be fun to crawl around in the attic to run the wires for my rear speakers. as well, all the other wires are gonna be run inside the walls so hopefully you'll only be able to see a few power cables and that's it.
Looks good, I like your equipment list. I too have the Quintet III's in my bedroom, except I am using them as surrounds. I have some F2's as my left and right. When you get your new rack, try your best to line up your left, right and center channel, it will sound so much better if the tweeter were lined up within a foot of each other (as in height, not closeness). I believe the rule is a foot, but the closer the better.
