SD's Home Theater Gallery (55 photos)Screen and Gear (New Receiver Further Down)Uploaded Apr 13, 2013 16:22:31
Gear is all new except the receiver. I hope to update it by this summer or fall. Shown is the Elunevisions 92inch Tab Tensioned Screen, On the left of the cabinet at top is the Sony S790 3D bluray player, Belkin PF30 and Onkyo M5010 power amplifier (currently powering B speakers, but is for front wides or heights with new receiver). In the center is the Goldenear SS50 center channel speaker, Denon 3808 CI receiver. On the Right is a Hitachi 1 TB hard drive for my .wav music files and the Xbox 360 Elite 120gb. The Millenium Falcon is the 1986 version that I was given free and completely restored. In the very top right and left hand corners are the front height speakers. They are Mirage Nanosat Prestige speakers. Left TowerUploaded Apr 13, 2013 16:22:33

Mirage sure has made these speakers smaller over the years, compared to its Omnisat 1 lineage. Mirage Omnisat 1Uploaded Apr 13, 2013 17:12:03
I have used these for years. I bought 4 of them to use for surrounds. I really like the sound this type of speaker gives. 70% ambient and 30% directional give movies and music a bigger sound to my ears. They trick my ears into thinking there are more speakers in the room than there actually are. Naked OmnisatUploaded Apr 13, 2013 16:22:36
They sure have refined their speakers over the years. Sad to hear Mirage is being amalgamated into other companies. The FireplaceUploaded Apr 13, 2013 16:22:38
This is home to the monoprice 4102 in ceiling speakers. These have really surprised us. They work very well and sound exceptional for their price. I had to have in ceiling speakers as my surround backs, because of location. Also seen on the left is a Diecast Clone Tropper, 12 inch McFarlane Crow, our late dog's paw print and ashes (RIP Chloe, we miss you) and Freddy Kruger by SideShow Collectables, I-88. Paradigm PW2200Uploaded Apr 13, 2013 16:22:40
Pictured here is the Paradigm PW2200 in light Cherry. I sold my Paradigm Studio 40's so I could more easily afford the Goldenear Triton II's when they came out. I could not part with this sub as I love its sound. It is the version 2 with 1500 watt peak and 500 Watt RMS. It is near-field to the couch. It really shakes the place when listening at medium-high volume levels.
For those that don't know, the Triton II's have 1200 watt subwoofers in each tower, so the front of the theater has great bass. JVC DILA X-35 BUploaded Apr 13, 2013 16:22:42
This is my newest purchase, I was 90% going to buy the Epson 6020, but saw this side by side with it and the JVC gave a more refined picture, not quite as bright with 3D, but nicer overall to my eye and my dad's eye. Something that I really love about this hobby is that my dad was the one that got me into hometheater, and I really like that all these years later we still go "hunting together". ProtectionUploaded Apr 13, 2013 17:22:05
I have Monster power protection for all of the speakers and components that plug into the wall. This shows the projector protection. Wireless Trigger All Hooked UpUploaded May 07, 2013 18:48:15
Just bought the wireless trigger for my screen. It is so nice to have the screen retract when the projector goes OFF and extend when the projector goes ON. It looks cool to. 4th SubwooferUploaded Apr 13, 2013 17:38:34
This is from my Polk Blackstone system upstairs. I built the theater for 4 subs or left/right option. I wasn't sure if there would be a difference with 3 subs vs 4. There is a dramatic difference. Even given the stature of the Polk, there is no bass null. I can faithfully say 4 subs improves the sound of the theater. ( 2 subs in Tritons + Paradigm PW2200+PA sub=4) In the future I would like to get an SVS PB12 NSD to match the Paradigm. Wiser move might be to get dual SVS?
So in a nutshell, that is the gear. SCREEN RAISEDUploaded Apr 13, 2013 18:40:01

COFFEE TABLEUploaded Apr 13, 2013 18:48:46
Not sure I should keep this? Think ottoman might be better. The table holds 2 pair of JVC 3d glasses as well as 2 pair of Samsung BG4100 RF glasses which I can confirm work. They are only $20 each and work great for extra glasses. Nexus 7 Tablet. SIGN AND AUTOGRAPHED PICTURE WALLUploaded Apr 13, 2013 18:52:22
The autographs are from Summer Glau, Geroge Romero and Allan Tudyk. The rest is the equipment featured in the theater. EPISODE 1 BEGINNINGUploaded Apr 13, 2013 19:13:34
The camera doesn't do the picture justice. I wanted to show what the JVC DILA X-35 black levels are like.
Now for the Blu's and memorabilia................. BMF, ARC 170, Republic GunshipUploaded Apr 13, 2013 17:43:46
I am a BIG STAR WARS FAN! It brings me back to when I was a kid and didn't have the pressures and stresses of adult life. Just excitement. I would like to share this with my children one day.
Pictured here is the Big Millenium Falcon which is over 2 feet long and about 2 feet wide. The detail is amazing. Also the stealth Arc 170 and Republic Gunship. All have crews. Han and ChewbaccaUploaded Apr 13, 2013 17:48:45

Literally just arrived. Can't wait to hook up on the weekend! Onkyo TX-NR 818's New HomeUploaded Jun 10, 2013 13:07:27
Here is the Onkyo TX-NR 818 in its new home in my custom made cabinet. I made 3 port holes in the sides to the right and left of the 818 for air flow as well as an open back of 4 inches between back wire screen. 818 has yet to get even luke warm. The wires that are seen are only visible because of the flash on the camera. Uploaded Jun 10, 2013 13:10:48
There is a lot of high-end in this receiver for the money. I did a review in the onkyo/integra thread if you would like to read my thoughts on it. Best sub $1k receiver period. Audyssey's XT 32 is astounding. It woke my sub up. The AppUploaded Jun 10, 2013 13:13:55
I really like this app since the remote doesn't allow you to select between usb (f) and usb (r) without pointing the remote into the couch or your leg when returning from receiver to usb.. No worries the app does. Ratings
