kevon27: I would much rather have an honest comment than some sugarcoated reply. Acoustically speaking you really can't have enough treatment if one takes care of not over-treating the mids and highs. My corners are scarcely treated.
Ascetically i completely agree with you but im a bachelor and loner and can live with almost anything.
Hey buddy, I agree with Kevon, you have way, way too many panels. Me being a good friend and all, I will take the extra off of your hands.. I’ll PM you my address… I know you live overseas and it will take time to get here, but I can wait.
Hey, spaceape. I just got scolded by my mentor B. Hulk for the comment I left earlier. Let me clarify. I'm NOT dissing your gear. It's absolutely incredible. As for the paneling, I feel it was a bit much. I hope you're not upset by what I said. I'm not out to hurt people's feeling.
Thank you kevon27 for being so honest. Im aware that the aesthetics of the room leaves a lot too be desired. Although it really doesn't take many wrongly placed pieces of furniture for my tiny room too begin looking very cramped. These pictures were really just taken as a temporary gallery update and im considering brightening up of the room in the near future.
While i agree that with the normal acoustic transparent fabrics the mids and highs easily can become overly absorbed, my fabric used are still rather reflective at those ranges. So im not really anxious about overdoing it there and the bass can never get enough treatment.
My room is constantly changing. So maybe someday it'll be more wife friendly.
Okay bro. I think you went WAY, WAY overboard with the acoustic paneling. I understand it's your home and you can do as you will BUT there comes a point of just having too much of something and that thing takes away from the rest.
This is a great little setup! I am big fan of B&W as well.
Would you not be able to have the wires from the projector going down on a straight line behind the acoustic pannels? I think it would look more neat, apart from that, it all looks great!
I like your set up. How big is the tv? Looks a little small, but I guess it doesn't matter much when you got a nice projector. But pretty nice job decorating, and good set up too.
@Sonic: Thank you Sir im happy with it. Yours looks like it's coming along very nicely also. About the subs. They do really well for their modest dimensions. Although a few times im sure a ported sub would do a better job at the bottom end. But just one step up from this and they already get much too big for my tiny room. Would have loved a couple of the biggest svs or jl audio but the depth of those units are to much for me.
I think your room is wicked. How do the SVS's sound? I am planning on getting the ported box series to match my paradigm sub. The acoustics must be pristine. 10/10 easily.
Okay spaceape! Your room is really starting to look strong now! It kind of reminds me of a private screening room! That's not a bad thing at all!
Very professional looking. Great job with the dual sub integration.
@jawsfan1975: It's a manual screen. No not really any waves but i do have a couple of lines made by rolling it back i assume but these are really only visible in light movie scenes.
Tell me about it! I was once a stickler for cable management but that has been reduced to an effort to keep the power cables and interconnects separated. Before, it was an exercise in artistry. Not now! Just accomplishing the separation is all I can muster. No doubt, it is the work of the devil!
Hello Lawrence. Yes I redid the calibrations because of the added panels. But also because i had my front speakers placed too far ahead too allow my pj screen to come down. So i had too redo it. Thanks i really love my b&ws.
Hello spaceape. Great job on the room correction and thanks for embedding the graphs with the results of the calibration. I do have a question regarding the reason for the new calibration..... did you re-calibrate due of the implementation of the additional acoustic panels? And I do love the look of the CM9's. Arguably one of the finest looking speakers on the market.
