First step was to clear out the space of my racing equipment and knock down the dividing wall and remove the rubble.

There against the wall is my race engine, it only makes about 725hp but it sure is strong.

Layin down some tar paper and plastic for a moisture barrier over the black top floor.

Floor with built-in riser.

This wall was built with plug-ins which go to the APC conditioner for my subs.

After furing strips were put on the block walls i placed 3/4" styrofoam sheeting between them for insul./sound deadening then gypsum board was hung.

Gypsum board ceilings with acoustic chips sprayed on then painted flat black, and r30 insulation above.

Floors have conduit ran underneath for speaker wiring, i used commercial carpeting on the walls in grey.

Silver Screen custom carpeting with 68oz. rubber padding.

Being close to the carpet capital i was able to get a bargain in this Silver Screen print.

JVC HD-350.

(2)-APC H-15, Pioneer Elite 94TXH (processing & powering the high inputs on all 7 channels), Pioneer Elite 84TXSi (only powering the low inputs on all 7 channels), Pioneer Elite DV-F07 (DVD Changer), Pioneer Elite BDP-95FD (blu-ray).

(5) -JBL Studio L-890 towers left & right front, center (behind screen), left & right surround. All speakers "bi-amped".

(2) JBL Studio L-830 bookshelfs 6th & 7th surround channels. "Bi-amped".

(2) Polk Audio PSW-1000 subs each contains 2 10"active subs.

DIY Seymour AV Center Stage XD 51"x122" 2.40:1 Scope screen Acoustically Transparent, frame built with oak and triple black velvet.

Just me "modeling" my screen for the wife.

Front row has (3) Berkline Reno HT seats, back row has (4) Manchester HT seats.

Left side looking forward.

Right side looking forward.

Right front wall area with sconce and film-strip decor.

Left front wall area with sconce and film-reel decor.

Left back wall area with sconce and The Godfather movie art.

Right back wall area with sconce and StarWars movie art.

Behind back row of seating looking forward.

Monster RF home theater/ lighting controller. Lutron Maestro remote dimmer is used on all of the lights.

One of the media cabinets with the ever growing blu-ray collection, these also serve as stands for the 6th&7th channels the other holds the cases for the DVDs in the changer.

POPcorn machine now stands ouside the door of the theater that area will oneday become a lobby.

the area to the left of the garage door is the theater, the garage area will be converted to a large open living room later.

Glad you asked Silo5 we have been working on it for a couple weeks now, gonna start a gallery for it, and it is getting an entirely new living room theater, with some audiophile grade speakers, or at least to me but til i'm finished i'm gonna save that for desert, let's just say i'm very anxiously awaiting and all this reconstruction is driving me crazy..

Nice work on the TR. I was so close to ordering the carpeting that you have. I didn't end up doing that because it didn't "go with the flow" of my house. I wanted the room to still "tie in" with the rest of my house. Great work on the room. Enjoy!!!

WOW, this is a real theater! What an incredible job? Everything is taken case of during the construction phase: Moisture barrier, raised floor, sound proofing, commerical grade carpet wall, conduits underneath the floor for wiring. Then you got all the top notch gears to go into the room, esp. love DIY Seymour AT scope screen, the JVC projector, and the Pioneer Elites, of course as I got one too. The remote is very cool. The front stage is gorgeous. And your room is huge, with 4 seat in a row, you still have large space on the two sides. Thanks for taking us through the process. It's quite an accomplish to get your DIY HT to this state. Thanks.

thanks for gracious comments we enjoy it alot, it has changed the way we watch/experience movies, the two receiver concept came to me as they are both the same power rating (140x7) as well as technology, and the newer one has all the codecs used.

Interesting, this is first I've seen 2 AVRs used to biamp vs. an avr/pre-pro and 2 dedicated amps. I'm still doing the "math" in my head. But, what better way to go than Elite! Excellent job on the room! I love it!
