Is this the version with the dts master audio upgrade ?Pioneer should be ashamed of themselves for not incl. it on an elite product costing close to 1000 bones.
Ver. 1.21 is available and is a complete waste of time. There is no DTS Master Audio up grade for analog outputs. Shame on you Pioneer for leading us along for so long waiting for the holy grail. I have had enough of waiting, my player is going back to trade in for the cheaper and better panny 55.
Updated firmware to 1.25a and there is still no DTS HD Master decoding! Good thing I'm running
bitstream. But they have significantly reduced the popping noise I used to get when skipping chapters.
Other than that nothing spectacular.
I have a high-end DTS decoding receiver, but it doesn't have DTS HD MA codecs software on it. I too am astounded that another firmware is released without this included with the upgrade. Like Stevo, I'm so upset with Pioneer that each passing firmware upgrade that goes by I'm ready to blow a gasket!
To pay this much money for a BD Player and have it not include DTS MS MA is beyond comprehension.
Pioneer, forget these minor bugs and get DTS HD MA on the next upgrade!!!
I think that the fact that anyone would spend the money on the BDP-05 would basically state that
yeah.... "I have a bad ass receiver." Therefore, you shouldn't need DTS-MA software on your bluray
player because of the later statement. Thanks Pioneer for not wasting my well spent money on coding
software I don't need and spending more time invested in a very high quality video processor.
Well, I just bought Babalon AD and it wouldn't play (Unknown disc) so I looked ans sure enough there was a new firmware version 1.38. I'm so mad that the stupid companys keep this up. If they had any balls they'd tell the movie manufacturers that they will not support any firmware changes for two years and then the movie makers, after eating tons of their junk would quit changing the sofware.
Ok, I upgraded to 1.38 and after several attempts Babalon AD played. Now tonight I decide to watch Rio Bravo (BluRay) and I get Unknown disc. I try my older Blurays. Some load, SOME DON'T.
I did a hard reboot. Nothing. I reloaded the upgrade. Same Problem. What a bunch of CRAP! Calling tech support in the morning. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I updtaed to firmware 1.65. Still received error messages......get this - This disc is coded for region A and will not play on your region B player......THIS IS A REGION A PLAYER! sIMPLY NUTS
Pioneer sucks shit period!! I've never had problems with my unit, now some discs won't play, I called them 4 weeks ago they said no problem we'll get it out to you, I still haven't received it, called them again and now they tell me it's backordered because of fuckin AVATAR. This is bullshit!! they know they're going to need supplies of this and they still don't give a fuck about the consumer..
