the best football movie ever made
this movie is great, its more then just a football movie.. this is one of my favorite movies of all time. the cast is perfect from jaime foxx to bill belamey to aaron eckert.. i can watch this movie over and over.. as far as the PQ goes.. i wish i could give it a 5.0 but id be lying if i did just that.. the PQ is great in some scenes but okay in others... for some reason in the opening scene (the first game) the shots that aren't from the game look better then when they are actually playing football, however the PQ does pick up as the movie goes on which is a plus because it looks really really good for a 10 year old film.. i dunno if it has to do with the camera they used or just a poor transfer job in some scenes.. either way this movie looks better then the SDVD did... so if your a fan its a must buy |

good movie
first time watching this movie so i didnt know what to expect, i think that this is a very good footbal movie, very entertaining, can be boring at some parts and i felt some scences were very unessecary,overall good movie but great acting, al pacino is one of my fav actors and he does not dissapoint
pq- some scenes had alot of detail and alot of nice colors and clear, and some scences were very grainy, but overall very nice looking picture, cant compare to dvd cuz havent scene it but im sure its a big step up
aq- i thought it was good, dialouge was clear, when there were football scences it was nicely done, music came through nice, but some scences were bad too, it didnt empress be all that much but still nicely done |

High detail, Weak black levels, the sound seemed loaded in the front. The movie is great! 1 point removed because Stone jumped on the shaky cam bandwagon and that annoys me throughout the picture.
Well worth the discounted price and great to watch between seasons to get your football fix. |

I love Oliver Stone's take on football. Lots of everything in this movie.
Video: Overall good but some colors seem off, i noticed the color timing switching during one scene, not very sharp.
Audio: The disc has almost reference audio. I love the sound design in this movie. Clarity is one notch below reference. Good use of LFE. Really puts you on the feild. |

Oliver Stone's football movie is fuggin' awesome! All around great acting, got to love Jaime Fox, Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, James Woods, LL Cool J, and just about everybody else. Like I said, great acting, great cast!
The PQ was a big improvement over the DVD's quality.
WARNING - AQ was also improved over the DVD, but there are numerous scenes where the background sound drowns out the dialogue (i.e.; music and cheering fans). Now, I wasn't thrilled about the overpowering music and fans, but in ways I feel it may have been deliberate. The scenes where it happens tend to take place at the football games and the big party scenes... both of which are environments where it's hard to hold a conversation in the real world. In that sense, I accept it, and can even bring myself to be happy with it.
Extras were plentiful.
All in all, as a fan of football, Oliver Stone, and this movie as a whole... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this blu-ray! You can't beat the current price of $9.99! |
