Excellent transfers, great audio, 2 great movies, 2 joke movies
The movies come in 4 super slim blu cases with an outer shell exactly like the previous dvd anthology release. Batman looks and sounds superb. Batman Returns also is excellent. 3 & 4 are of fine quality, but the movies are just horrible. None of them compare to the new movies, but if you are a fan of the old, it is worth picking up this set. With today's special effect standards, suddenly Batman's special effects feel like the old "POW!" "BANG!" batman days. |

Bat-tastic.
I have watched snippets of all four, and as a previous owner of all 4 films on VHS, and DVD, it was stunning to see them in a new light on BD, it was almost as if I had never truly seen them before. Some scenes are so well detailed that you can tell they are models (Particularly in the zoo scenes from BReturns).
I had the DVD boxset, which boasted the same awesome library of extra content which would be a major plus to anyone who is a Bat-Fan, regardless of it being presented in SD formet.
A must buy for any Bat-Fan. |

Huge Batman Freak
Batman: plus you get digital copy
4.5 MOVIE= all time classic with great story and direction that started it all. I saw this movie 8 times in the movie theater
3.5 VIDEO= looks pretty good but not show off you blu ray
3.5 AUDIO= same with the audio just ok
Batman Returns
4 MOVIE= I think this batman movie is darker than the first with ok good story but hard to beat the first one
4 VIDEO= looks good but perfect
4.5 AUDIO= this audio sounds really good on this one
Batman Forever
4 MOVIE= I really enjoyed this movie between jims riddle and hot nicole kidman plus great story
4 VIDEO= looks amazing with all its colors glowing and standing out
4 AUDIO= sounds amazing
Batman & Robin ( now comes the bad )
1.5 MOVIE= you should know why so not explaining
5 MOVIE= ice looks amazing, amazing transfer for such a bad film
5 VIDEO= amazing
5 EXTRAS= All Batman Films are full of lots of extras so 5 for each

Lacking expected BD quality...
I find the detail missing in the image jarring. I have watched the first and third. I think these titles were heavily cleaned up by the DNR process.
Are they improved over the DVD set? Yes but not by much. I am glad I got this set on sale and did not pay the typical $80+ price tag. |
