Yeehaw!
Really enjoyable fun film--full of edgy characters, explosions and Nic Cage acting all tough and looking very buff too. The picture is very sharp, well saturated, and virtually grain less--I don't know whether this was how it looked in the theaters because sometimes it seemed a little bit 'smoothied'. The PQ really begins to shine when they land in the Lerner Airfield in the middle of the desert, and after that the climax in Vegas where the plane crashes is perfect demo material: the multi-colored lights are vivid, detail is great--virtually every spark when things slam into each other is detailed, and every glass shard glitters in full HD glory. Explosions look great too, as they should in 1080p. Audio was nice--the rumbling of the planes and thumping music sound good. Nice work by Disney. |

Looks good- fun movie
Sure it's hammed up and overly unbelievable, but it's just plain fun! The assortment of characters and explosive action sequences make this one well worth the watch. The picture quality was the best I've seen yet for CON AIR. Although I did notice a little bit of noise in some facial close ups. The atmospheric shots, the sky, all that good stuff looks fantastic. |

Con Air
Video detail was fantastic. I was recording the HD showing of con air on TNT and compared the two side by side and the bd is much better. For the 20 dollars I spent on it I feel like I got a good deal. The extras arnt in HD and didnt seem all that interesting. The sound was DD 5.1 since i have no lossless setup, still good though. |

Why couldn't you put the bunny back in the box?
"Classic" is the word that defines Con Air. A high octane thriller that starts off from the very beginning. The P/Q is great for a 1997 release. The uncompressed audio is an added bonus. The extras are worthwhile. I highly recommend it to all Blu fans. If you are thinking whether to get this movie, then stop thinking at once and run to your local BB, CC, Target, Wal Mart and get it. |

A guilty pleasure
I've always loved this film since I saw it in the theaters. I felt Nic Cage perfect in the role of Cameron Poe and the supporting characters in Malkovic, Cusack and Rhames made for an entertaining film.
I admit being suprised the picture quality of this disc. It's clean, very clean, in fact it looks a little "too" clean compared to the DVD version, almost as if there was some DNR cleanup done. Well if there was, they did a great job with it. Picture is very sharp and colors are very deep.
Audio-wise, this film lives up to expectations. Low end detail when called upon, lots of strong surround presence, clear dialogue and that music score well represented. |

Great Transfer and good movie
This is over a decade old film, Disney does better job transfer film included a bit older one than other studio I think. One thing I really like all disney blu-ray movie they had the a almost none grain issue in low light as many other studio face. They did a superior job in transfer Movie is actually medicore, not enought action, but many good acting I think. |

Excellent action flick
Con Air is a great action movie with plently of excellent moments that will keep you entertained. The cast is good, Nic Cage is fine but I like all the supporting cast, they add a ton to this movie. Even though it's over ten years old, the action is awesome and holds up to some of the best new stuff. It isn't my favourite action movie but it is a fun and thrilling movie that you will enjoy. The PQ is fantastic, one of the best transfer for a catalogue title. There is slight grain and some shots lose their sharpness but the majority is clear and sharp. The AQ will blow up your sub. The action is all around you. Cause it a catalogue movie, the sound effects are a little dated. I didn't watch the extras. Con Air is entertaining and full of awesome action stunts and for a movie almost eleven years, the transfer os outstanding and the AQ is just as impressive. Definetly a must own for action fans. |

The only CON is that it's not in North America.... Yet
Just received Con Air BD from the UK, and I must say.... WOW. My only regret was that I didn't get "The Rock" as well.
The PQ for Con Air is a 4.5/5. A really sharp transfer. From Nicholas Cage's awful hair to Danny Trejo's crater face simply put Disney has turned the ugly into beauty. Skin tones are true and colors are well adjusted. Simply put, stunning.
The Audio tracks are PCM Loseless audio, accompanied by DD 5.1 and DTS 5.1. The PCM track is magnificant. Great sound coming from the propeler slicing through the passenger cabin and dismembering Danny Trejo's Character (Johnny 23, how original). The roar of the "Azzkikr" Vette.
Great job on Audio and Video Disney!! The only disappointment (for some) would be the lack of Special Features (I only like the outtakes and gag reels). Also I wonder if the US release will be the Director's Cut or the Theatrical version. The UK version is the theactrical cut. All in all, a classic as far as Simpson and Bruckheimer titles go. |

Whatchu think im gonna do? Im gonna save the *bleepin* day.
I have seen the dvd version of this movie over 20 times since it came out, so when I found out it was being released on Blu-Ray I just had to pick it up. Let me tell you it does not disappoint. The video is so amazingly clear, you would never be able to tell this movie is over 10 years old if you did'nt know better. I can't really comment on the audio too much since i don't have a lossless setup, but it sounded good to me. There is a few extras on the disc, but it is by no means packed with extra features.
Overall this release exceeded my expectations. The AVC coding is flawless, which is becoming a theme with disney flicks. I recommend everyone add this title to their bluray collection asap! |

I waited till this came out in the us to get it, and man Its like watching it for the first time again DISNEY makes an amazing transfer owning the two sided first release dvd of this movie, this is a major MAJOR step up the uncompressed audio is amazing 10/10 it really delivers every little sound is heard nice and clear. The VIDEO is stunning! Disney makes in my opinion great transfers Great great movie A+ all around and for either 24.99 at bestbuy or 19.99 on amazon this is A MUST OWN unless you have issues with actors or something like that Great movie THANK YOU DISNEY! |

Great Looking BD Movie
The image quality of "Con Air" in this BD release is great. Bold color, very sharp detail and minimal edge halos on bright day-lit scenes. The DD 5.1 track was pretty good. A little lacking on the bass end of things, but very good use of the surround channels. The music score sounded noticeably better on the BD versus the recently released DVD version. I don't have a HDMI-equipped AV receiver yet, thus cannot judge the quality of the LPCM 5.1 track. But it's nice to know it's there.
The extras on this disc are the only area where the release falls short. I would have liked some audio commentary tracks from Director Simon West, Nicolas Cage and some of the other actors. The few extras are in 4:3 NTSC, not HD. |

"This is f*cking spectacular!"
This is possibly the best bluray that I own. I watched it last night, I was completly blown away. The pq was really nice when the cons were at Lerner airfield. The aq was also really well done as well. The movie it self rocks. It has very likable characters and great action as well. I got this for 20 dollars and I must say...It was one hell of a deal. This is a must own for any bluray collector. |
