An extremely thought provoking and entertaining film.
Enemy of the State is an exciting, fast paced, nail biting thriller. Superb Acting throughout. PQ is excellent and SQ is powerful on BD. This movie really makes you think about our freedoms and is more than relevant to the current state of affairs now in effect in the U.S. at this time. This is one man's life threatening struggle against the machine of power that threatens the constitutional rights of it's citizens under the guise of National Security. An extremely thought provoking and above all, very excellent and entertaining film. Wonderful on BD as always! |

Scary
First off let me say I am a huge fan of a lot of Tony Scott films. This film is scary to me because it came out before 9/11 and before George Bush brought in the Patriot Act. This film creates an amazing amount of tention while having a great story. In my opinion there are two of the best foot chase sequences in this movie. It's scary to think how easy government officials could be keeping track of you with out you knowing it!
The video is a major upgrade over the DVD.
On the audio side the uncompressed track is no doubt the star of the show. Whether it is the shoot out at the end of the movie the two foot chases or the satillites in space, the uncompressed track is sure to keep your soun system humming. |

Why ranked so high??
The audio/video scores that is?
It seems they used an older video master that quite frankly wasn't that good! I mean it's much improved over the DVD but on the other hand, I felt it lacked clarity that it could have had and the master seemed "dirty" to me?
As for the audio, I guess I was expecting more from the PCM but i'm almost willing to bet that it's not actually 24bit resolution that's listed on the box. I mean parts were dynamic, however I didn't sense any more ambience than on the DVD release which was suprising to me. |

not bad could have been better
great movie, a good action thriller, my one big problem is with the PQ, the film has lots of grain,spot's & scratches and just looks dirty, yes it looks better than it ever has on dvd but not as much as you would hope from blu-ray... |

great will smith movie
this was a great movie on dvd, but then when you watch the blu-ray you see so much of the quality that was lost.. great movie about how the goverment keeps tabs on you(kinda scarrry), along with it being from 1998 so you know things have advanced since then... anyways great movie thriller/drama.. well worth the buy, and watch. |

It was ok, I guess...
I would personally have to say that this movie was ok, nothing more. Its not the clearest video that Ive seen, but I think the sound was pretty good. I think since the movie was made ten years ago, the picture quality can only be so good, but its not horrible. If you just want to see a good movie than buy this. If you want to show off blu ray to your friends, this movie isnt the one for you. |
