EXCELLENT!!!
I think Warner did a nice job with this set. The video quality does get better as the movies get newer. The first one looks pretty bad in some of the dark scenes, but still looks respectable overall.
Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix look absolutely outstanding, though |

Good Movie, Bad Box Design
I love the movies dont get me wrong but the design of the set wasnt very impressive. I was disapointed when i had opened the box and the movies just kinda fell out. I think that the design team could have spent a little more time on the inside design. |

Love me some Harry Potter
I love all these movies and its such a joy re-discovering these movies 1-5 in High definition. You can see a lot of little details that you could not in the DVD version. |

Movie name correction/clarification.
As per the authors original intent, the name of the first book and film is actually "Harry Potter and the philosophers stone". If you buy this box set outside of the US (the only country to change the title) it has the correctly titled movie.
I've seen all 5 movies on both HD-DVD and on Blu-ray and there is no difference in image quality on the films. I don't have a $6000 audio receiver so I don't notice any audio difference between the formats (both sound great via Dolby Digital on my Onkyo system).
The HD-DVD version of Order of the Phoenix has picture in picture commentary, the blu-ray version does not.
I suppose my only 'concern' about buying this box set was that come 2010 (ish) when Deathly Hallows is (likely only) on blu-ray there will be two movies that don't fit with the rest of the packaging. A minor thing, but I know a few people that held off buying this box set because the series on film wasn't complete yet. I get their point.
My other minor gripe is that from pictures I've seen on the net, the disks should have been silkscreend to match the packaging. In my package, only disk one had the special silk screened disk. The rest of the disks looked to have the same silkscreen artwork as the stand alone disks. Maybe warner is running out of the specially labled disks. |

What up with this packaging!!!
Ok so I agree with the others on the video quality. The audio is nothing special. I rated the packaging in the extras place - I thought the idea of what they tried to do was neat. Makes it the box appear as harry's chest and as we have all seen in the movies Harry's chest is aways a mess.
Well for those of us that like our Blu-rays in an orderly fashion you probably want to buy these movies individually rather then in this messy set. The cases are NOT in the nice jewel cases but rather in unevenly sized paper envelopes. You are pretty much are stuck storing them in this big box. |

What's not to love?
My set, from BJs, was $104ish...came with all sorts of goodies including 5 HP bookmarks (really cool)...the disks were all BRay with no unHD DVDs...looked superb even from 1st HP...I mean, the movies were better than the theatrical experience...
Must view it on 50" Plasma...the dark scenes are plenty and my LG plasma handles it beautifully!
I love BRay movies and HP set is a must have! |

Great!
The video was great in all of the movies except the first one in some dark areas of the movie the video was a bit grainy. Other than that everything about it was great! The trunk was weird but if you are a true fan it just adds to the Harry Potter Experience! GREAT! |

Harry Pooper
Yeah, I agree ! I was really not happy with the PQ of at least the first movie. I compared it to the last in the set and the last one was amazing. If you have not bought this yet I would suggest simply keeping with the old DVD versions for at least the first three as they look crappy for blu-ray. |

Harry Potter Limited Edition Gift Set: Years 1-5 (Blu-ray)
PQ is not good, even on the latest movie, too much noise on background objects, faces are grainy. Not much improvement compared to regular DVDs, I'm disappointed, I've paid much for very little. |
