Still Not Sure Why I Rented This.......
However, I'm glad I did.
This was a very clever movie. It had a good plot, a good message, and good acting. I especially loved how they transitioned between the two stories. Leaving one would blend right in with the other so seamlessly, in a very clever fashion. The story was compelling and I wanted to know more about each side of the story. The ending was rather abrupt though. I was expecting it to last a little longer. The PQ was great, I have no complaints. The AQ was also great but it just didn't blow me away or immerse me as much as I would have liked. Then again, it was mostly dialog driven. It has quite a few extras worth checking out.
Overall, it's worth renting to see if you'd like it. Like I said, I have no idea why it ended up in my Netflix queue but it did and enjoyed it even though it's not something I would normally watch. |

Not too shabby.
I bought this for my wife and we both enjoyed this film.
The PQ was quite excellent as the scenes in France filled me with the desire to revisit the enchanted Paris once again.
The AQ had very few issues. The dialogue was crisp and clean. Everything sounded wonderful in my home theatre.
There are a ton of extras, commentaries, a couple of recipes, and making of. I found the extra film about Julia Child told through the people that knew her to be very interesting and entertaining. It could have used more footage of Julia herself in the extras as her personality is radiating. |
