Better than Expected!
This movie is a lot better than I expected. The animation quality is fantastic, rich and detailed; (not like it looks in previews on television). It's almost on par with a Pixar film (almost). It also has high spirits and a great script. Full of funny lines and great for kids. There's even a little origin story about our favorite group of zoo heroes. |

Dreamworks Does It Again.
I was very surprised to enjoy this movie as much as I did on the 2nd time around. I took the wife and kids to see it when it first came out and enjoyed it, but, did not love it. After buying this film on Blu-ray, I found myself enjoying it much better in high-definition. I have found myself being spoiled by HD and a nice home surround sound system to the point where the movie theaters do not seem to please me as much as they use to.
I found the film's video to be flawless, and the audio was nice but not great, I didn't expect True HD on family film even though it should be. This film picks up nicely where the 1st one left off, and you even find out how Alex came from Africa to the NY zoo. It's a film where everyone can enjoy, and have some laughs at the same time. |

Great Movie
I thought this movie was really halrious. I love the song I like to monkey. The PQ is simply amazing. The Audio is kickass. There is a good amount of extras. This movie is highly recomened by me. |

Funny movie but still cant keep up with Pixar
I was funny and of course the picture quality was amazing. But the story telling and characters just aren't as fun and deep as Pixar movies. But i think the best movie that Dreamworks has put out since Shrek. |

Great and funny movie
I saw this movie in the theaters, but seeing it again on blu ray makes you appreciate it that much more. Very funny movie with excellent PQ & AQ quality. Very much recommended. |

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is a big improvement over the first and I found it to better in nearly every aspect of the original. The voice cast again is great with once again, Cohen as King Julien being the highlight, he brings such excitement to his role. The characters of Madagascar are so colorful and of course, some of them are just so hilarious (The Penguins are pure genius) that you just can't help love this movie. While I would never compare this to a Pixar film in terms of story, I truly enjoyed Madagascar 2. It provides constant laughs and features an awesome voice cast that makes it standout from the heap of animated junk out there. The transfer is just amazing. Detail is unbelievable and the image is sharp and is simply stunning to look at. Look at the opening plane launch when it pans over the entire crowd, you can see each animal in great detail. This is a demo-quality transfer. The audio is impressive as well. My only minor complain is the sub didn't kick up as much as I thought it would however dialogue is front and clear and the movie creates a complete 360 sound field working every speaker with good usage of the back speakers. Extras are very good, I really enjoyed the voice-over featurette although my favourite voice actor Sacha Baron Cohen is oddly unseen even though they speak very highly of him. The penguins shorts are very enjoyable and the music videos are fun but silly. Madagascar 2 is a very entertaining and funny feature with a fantastic voice cast. Dreamworks has provided us with a first-rate disc with a stunning visual transfer, an excellen audio track and good bonus features. Overall, I highly recommend Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa  |

a blind buy i actually loved
madagascar 2 is a great movie way better than the second one and it has great picture and sound this is one of the few movies that i will give a five out of five,has a great story buy this movie |

Home Theatre Demo material right here
This was one of my first Blus I had ever bought, and on my 140" projector I was awestruck, the picture quality is magnificent, each and every shot has a wonderful colour pallette. Blacks and consistent, highlights beautiful, and yet despite Dreamworks making basic animated models, the texture on the skin of the animals is brillant to see on blu. One shot that I always remember and looks maginificent is the WS of the african planes. Sound is wonderful, but hard to tell on my old denon RCA amlifier lol, so everything sounds the same to me.
The story doesn't quite match the first, but Dreamworks will unfortunately will be that way until they get a dynamite script that is at the level of pixar's.
In overall, Highly reccomended if you want to entertain kids, yourself, or those who you want to show off your new home theatre too.

Hip Hop funny anime
This is definite has heavy influence from hip hop culture, is kinda funny, since it borrow some scene of Lion King. Anyway PQ is just as good or better than first one. sound is great but had been more use of dymatic sound. |

About the same as the first
I love the first movie and really wanted to enjoy this movie, but found that the lack of a cohesive plot often left my mind wandering. There were truly hilarious moments in the movie, but after watching it 3 times I have decided I won't even let my children watch the movie, at least not until they are older. There are too many adult situations in the movie and too much sexual innuendo for the very young. |
