Enjoyable movie, OK disc
I really enjoyed this U.S. remake of Luc Besson's La Femme Nikita. How can you go wrong with Bridget Fonda running around in her underwear using guns that are bigger than her? Yeah, there's some early 90's cheese here, but the action scenes are very well done, the score is great, Harvey Keitel and Gabriel Byrne are cool in their parts and there's a nice slick feel to the movie. Oh yeah, and Anne Bancroft!
I was a little disappointed with the PQ on this as it's not as detailed as I was hoping, though it is a decent upgrade from the old DVD. The colors are nice and there is slight grain in some scenes. The TrueHD audio track is pretty damn good though. Bass is LOUD, score/music sounds excellent and there is nice separation. Make sure you switch to it, since the default is annoyingly the DD track. The only extra is the trailer. |
