I have to agree Daniel Craig if the best bond!

I'm gonna keep this short. This is my favorite bond sequel. and I hope they make more with Daniel Craig. Daniel Craig keeps it very entertaining he never over plays bond. Which makes this Bond's swagger why more Pimp'n. The movie over was more believe compared to the old school bond. of course this film has some over the top sequences, But these newer Bond's film are easier to digest. The film starts off with a rush and never slowed down. I lover how it was sequence after sequence of chaos, action and just plain classic pimp'n from bond!

PQ- well not much to say here but Fantastic. Both are the Best looking blu ray thus far. I compare ever blu ray that comes out to the first bond. Cause that's whats true HD is suppose to look like. this film falls in the same category. Top two best looking films. Show casing orgasmic visuals LOL!!! not lying either.

AQ- amazing grace How Sweet the sounds of explosion and collusion!

overall this is a MUST MUST MUST BUY! I have no clue what the hell people were talking about this film being lame? they are stupid and entitled to there own opinion LOL! anyways great sequel......

"I don't think the dead care about vengeance."

Following up on the events of "Casino Royale," this film further chronicles the growth of James Bond's character, while showing his continuing quest for revenge. If the close connection to the first film doesn't throw you off, then the rest of the story in this film may; initially, I found it rather muddled. At first, I would have given this movie a 3.5 out of 5, but after subsequent viewings, I grew to appreciate the plot, even if it doesn't make total sense.

The plot does move along nicely, featuring many smashing action scenes. The photography gets really shaky and chaotic during these scenes, but it's manageable. The filming in the rest of the movie is great. Production design features many cool vehicles, great costumes, and great sets/locations. Music is great.

The disc has perfect video/sound quality, and includes a few good extra features.

Critics are Stuck in the COLD WAR ERA!!

I don't know what all the fuss is about lately, but it seems that the latest Bond outing: "Quantum of Solace", has been getting some undeserved negative feedback lately. Mostly in the forms of endless ads, publicity stunts like the controversy surrounding the new Bond women as well as the onslaught of critics who are quick to dismiss its plot and simply evaluate its action set pieces. Most of the reviews of Quantum of Solace from national critics all sound exactly alike (and have probably been created by the giant hand of the Coca-Cola corporation to promote the film as simply passable enough to garner a positive response--so as not to give people's hopes up). A new tool and re-imagining so to speak of "Bond" in the vein of "Jason Borne".

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 15 years, you'd understand that movies have changed astronomically, often for the worst but mostly for the better. The James Bond films are not exempt from this ascendance from the evil grasp of mid-90s movie hell. Movies are no longer cheesy quip outings, complete with obvious sets and drawn-out stunt sequences, which seemed to have been choreographed by a two-year old who watches Van-Damme's Street Fighter 10 times a day. No sir, the new Bond flicks are far more subtle in their approach. Yes, the legacy of the classic Bond films have a certain undeniable charm, that's part of the bond experience. But that boat has mostly run its course. Movie goers are too smart now; they don't want A, B, C plot devices all corresponding to reach some kind of melodramatic climax, complete with inserted sex scene A and B. Repeat. Attention Critics: Average Movie goers (at least the smart ones who see through all the ivy-league critic bullsh&t, know that the Craig Bonds are innovative, clever and cumulative).

Sure the so-called "A.D.D. film making" can be clichéd and annoying at times. I for one thought it was annoying when the Borne films came out, however, that didn't stop me from appreciated stuff like Transformers, Memento, United 93, Syrianna, The Dark Knight, The Departed (Best Picture). All films shot with the alleged Gen-X style of quick cut film making. Critics, get over it, you're not the only people out there who notice the camera shakes and cuts quickly. My advice, play some X-Box watch some HD-TV and keep up with the screen otherwise get off the boat. These types of films are not for you, does that make them good or bad, NO. It’s simply a storytelling choice done out of either necessity, style or to arrive at a dramatic end. No doubt, subsequent Bonds will become more traditional, more drawn out and with more dialogue exposition and so-called Brit quips. Hell, Bond may even be played by a Black man in the near future. I wonder how the Cold War generation of film goers will deal with that reality. My prediction is, Ian Flemming will be turning in his grave. At this point, I doubt that he even cares. People as smart and intelligent and creative as him would scowl at the nonsense surrounding Quantum of Solace.

For one thing, this new Bond shouldn't be viewed as a stand alone thing; it’s actually a nearly abstract and exhilarating continuation of "Casino Royale", the first film in this revamp. We also shouldn't forget that Bond hasn't been fleshed out yet, this is a new kind of origin story with all its complex trimmings. Craig is becoming Bond in the process, so his road is a harsh and tumultuous one. It doesn't evolve as simply the classic story model from film A, to B to C. Craig must in turn, become more like Bond as these early films continue to progress. Once that journey is complete, the subsequent films will then feature all the classic trimmings which make Bond, BOND. Except this time, the audience will have earned Craig's respect, since the journey into the character's heart was earned every step of the way and shared by its audience. It will, I repeat, not simply be corny characterizations forced on top of us. But while Craig shares a few of the traits that made each past Bond work, the thing that separates him from the rest of the lot is that he is by far the most threatening, the most athletic and the most human of all the Bonds so far. He is perhaps closest to Ian Flemming's original vision for the character. For that reason, Craig gets high marks.

Quantum of Solace is technically marvelous, moves fast, and has enough of each element to keep it increasingly entertaining while not keeping you in the theatre too long. If that's not THE definition of a good time at the cinemas, I don't know what is. Its likely Bond will survive into the next century, and for as long as movie goers are willing to spend time with him, and as long as there are evil people in the world who want power and money due to misunderstanding. No doubt that Bond will be there, which looks to be like forever.

Bond. James Bond....

Quantum of Solace

This was soo much better on blu ray then when i saw it in the cinemas, i still dont think its better then casino royal, but its deffinatly a worthy bond sequal :P

Audio is simply stunning, it always is in a bond movie, this is high demo material right here.

As for the video is also demo worthy, the detail is outstading.

I was abit disapointed to see theres no more extras on it, since it IS a bond movie:( many of the features only take like 3 or 4 mins, which is disapointing very

good, but not great.

from a technical standpoint, quantum of solace is stellar. picture and audio quality are superb. the only real flaw i found were some shots that grain felt a little obtrusive along with some dirt specks. the audio is incredible, make no mistake. you will blow the roof off your house during the explosions. the movie was cut entirely too fast and frantically for my taste. the story felt rushed and didn't live up to the hype it had. all in all a very good and enjoyable addition to the bond series.

Awesome picture, movie o.k.

This is probably the best looking blu-ray i've seen. the movie isn't quite as good as casino royale, but there is more action in a shorter movie which is a plus.

Not as good as Casino Royale

In fact this movie is too much Jason Bourne and not enough like any of the Bond movies including Casino Royale. However, it is still a decent action movie.

few might require 2nd viewing

1st time watching I thought it was ok with story and performance on blu is demo worthy, but my 2nd time I really enjoyed the story, some reason I now feel this was a great sequel to one of the best reboots ever. Like one long movie when played back to back with casino royale.. as for the extras I have a feeling they might save it for a 2-disc version later on like they did with 1st flick..but other than that this is a great movie to own might just take a 2nd go round to fully appreciate..

Pretty good....

...but i found this to be really choppy and un-bond like. While watching this i was really trying to love this, but i just couldn't. I understand it's more of a revenge movie, but i don't think this was the best bond film i've seen. Marc Forster is a good director, but i think he didn't have much experience with directing a hard-core action flick. Overall, the movie bears the name 007 but it felt like more of another action flick...decent, it was entertaining. The PQ was just stunning, THIS is true HD. Colors pop out, flesh tones are on spot, clarity is well shown, detail is fine and no edge enhancement was used. 5/5. AQ was insane. It's a ridiculously loud track and fast paced. Overall, decent movie with a demo worthy disc...recomended.

I liked this movie, but thank goodness I watch Casion Royale again on HBO the other night. I liked the action and the audio was great. I think the plot was not that good, but overall I would liked it. I am going to watch Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace back to back. EXTRAS SUCKED!

Disappointed...

Video - was good but def not "Casino" worthy!

Audio - sounded pretty decent no complaints there

Movie - to me...was trash, well cant say trash cause i actually like Craig as Bond but not as Royale, and most of that movie was them playin cards lol...truth be told a fell asleep on Solace a couple times...felt more like Ronin/Bourne, if it wasent part 2 to Royale id trade it in!

Ex - didnt watch

Overall - decent movie def no Casino Royale!

GREAT TRANSFER GOOD BOND FLICK

I have to admit the story really relizes on Casino Royal. There is not much to Quantum of Solace but it is good action with a slightly least thrilling plot the Casino Royal.

PQ- is among the best, hands down great transfer. No Grain, No Noise.

Audio is great too, right off the bat when the music stops and just the sound of the engines takes off, its pure blu-ray high def quality at its best.

A nice sequel...

Quantum of Solace is a nice sequel to "Casino Royal" but fails to keep my interest like Royal did. Yes, there is more action but I felt the plot was a little weak. Don't get me wrong, it is a good movie and certainly worth watching, but still not as good as its predecessor. Craig does another terrific Bond here as he is becoming my fav. of all the Bonds. PQ is pretty good however, there was some grain at times. AQ is awesome as it will certainly show off your sound system. Didn't check out the extras as it was a rental. Casino Royal is a good movie that shines at times and drags at others. PQ and AQ are good and is recommended by me. 7.5/10
