Spaceballs has never looked so good!

Movie: This movie is fantastic! If you've seen it, I don't need to tell you. If you haven't seen it I'm not going to tell you, just watch it!

Video: The video quality is fantastic. The image appeared a little soft to me in some shots, so I didn't give it a perfect 5. But, this didn't happen too often. Some shots look like noise reduction was applied and other shots look untouched. I'm not sure if it's just me or if that is really what is happening when I watch it. But, the video is no slouch. It looks great. The bite rate averages around 30MBPS, which is nice. If the image hadn't appeared so soft at times I'd have scored it higher. But, this is the best Spaceballs has ever looked!

Audio: The audio is also fantastic. I don't have my surround sound fully around me so I can't comment on how effective the audio is, but it is nice and clear and you can tell the surrounds are getting enough of a workout. I just don't have mine placed behind me so it's hard to tell with any degree of accuracy how it truly sounds as a surround sound experience. But, it was loud and the explosions were powerful, while dialogue remained crisp and clear.

Extras: There are a TON of extras included on here. Nothing in high-def, but a lot of extras nonetheless. Included is a making of Spaceballs and some interviews with Mel Brooks and the cast. Also a little tribute to John Candy, as well as movie goofs found in the film. There is also an audio commentary track included with Mel Brooks that runs along side the film, but it was recorded a long time ago for the Laser-disc release. It is interesting to listen to if you're a fan of the movie, but it's a little dry and mostly contains him rambling on about things that aren't all that interesting. Still a good listen though.

MOVIE ROCKS!!!

I can believe I watched this f**king movie! I actually knew this movie would be great, from what I heard. Wow, this movie rocks!!! This the best movie that I've ever "EVER" seen!!! I recommend you watch this movie, because you'll just be enhancing your time! Also, I recommend Blu-ray to increase the price of this wicked movie. This movie may have a good PQ and a good AQ, but that doesn't stop the movie from being so f**king awesome!!!

BEST MOVIE EVER!!! BEST MOVIE EVER!!! BEST MOVIE EVER!!!

may the shwartz be with you

As an older reviewer I can appreciate this movie more. It was typical Mel Brooks style humor. It was not the worst movie ever,....nor the best. Just accept it for what it is.

I thought the PQ and AQ was ok but nothing eye-popping.

The best mel brooks film yet. But where's Dracula Dead And Loving It on Blu Ray?
That would complete my Mel brooks Collection in High Defination.

Odysseyz92 you are absolutely crazy.

This movie is a classic and even my kids love it. You must not know comedy or enjoy brilliant comedies like this? Everyone has their own opinion. LIKE me...I think Gone With The Wind sux. BUT its looked at as the best movie ever made and never been matched ever...BUT for me, its nothing.

I wont put it down cause it is what it is..

Spaceballs is a must have for anyone with a sense of humor in the lines of Men in Tights, Airplane, Police Academy, Naked Gun, Hot Shots...ect ect...

What Comedy spoofs should be

Spoofing great Sci-fi films like Star Wars, Aliens, and other movies from the seventies and eighties, Mel Brooks has a tale of a runaway Princess. The Princess is taken captive by the evil Spaceballs who hold her hostage to steal the air from their peace loving neighbors Druidia. To rescue his daughter, King Roland hires Lone Starr and his sidekick Barf to free her from the evil clutches of Dark Helmet and the evil Spaceballs. Lone Starr must now race to save the Princess and her home planet of Druidia.
Surprisingly Spaceballs flies in ludicrous speed with a fantastic 1080p, 1.85:1-framed transfer. Usually catalog titles seem to have a disappointing transfer, but Spaceballs is the exception. The colors transfer smoothly and the picture is crystal clear. Spaceballs easily scores a five out of five. The viewer will easily be impressed with the dexterity and clarity of the film on this disc.
The audio is just as impressive as the video transfer. Spaceballs fires in with a DTS-HD MA 5.1 lossless soundtrack. The sound is impressive through the whole film. The opening sequence is a great example of how impressive the soundtrack is. Audiophiles will be more then satisfied as Spaceballs scores a perfect five out five for the clarity and haunting but beautiful sound.
The supplements for this disc are plentiful. Spaceballs offers commentary from Mel Brooks and commentary is also available in The Spaceballs Languages of Mawgese and Dinkese for laughs. The disc also boasts still galleries, trailers, film flubs, storyboards to film comparison, three documentaries, a copy of the wide screen and full screen DvD, and a chance to watch the film in a hilarious ludicrous speed mode. Overall the disc is packed with extras, which scores this release with a perfect five out five.
Spaceballs is what comedy spoofs should be. The Wayan Brothers and the people that dish out crap like Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans should view Mel Brooks’ catalog of films. Mel never tries to gross out or ridiculously try making every situation raunchy and risqué. Most of all he never uses Carmen Electra in his films. Spaceballs is one of the funniest films of all time. Easily a classic and to enjoy this movie, you need to know the movies they are making fun of. Also unlike the Wayan Brothers, Spaceballs stays in their genre. The movie scores a perfect five out of five and so does the disc. This release is a must have for anyone’s collection. This is a definite recommendation for people that enjoy spoofs and love movies like Airplane, Police Academy, and The Naked Gun.

I can't believe I watched this f**king movie! I actually thought this movie would be funny, from what I heard. Wow, this movie sucks!!! This the worst movie that I've ever "EVER" seen!!! I recommend you don't watch this movie, because you'll just be wasting your time! Also, I recommend Blu-ray to get rid of this shitty movie. This movie may have a good PQ and a good AQ, but that doesn't stop the movie from being so f**king bad!!!
