Better than expected
Great work of actors in average story. Still liked it more that I expected after negative reviews I've seen. Funny that movie starts with same phone ring sound as in Matrix.
Blu goodies are all in place, no compains about audio-video technical component. |

Street Kings
Street Kings is an great thriller that is all about coruption in the police force. Director David Ayer who has written plenty of police dramas molds Street Kings into a gripping feature that is full of excellent characters and compelling twists. The cast is fantastic, Keanu Reeves is good however he still can't convey emotion but the stand-out is definitely Chris Evans who does a fantastic job with what little he gets. Hugh Laurie and Forest Whitaker both give great supporting performances as well although Laurie's character could have some more screen time. Honestly, Street Kings had a chance to be the next "The Departed" however the movie slows down in middle but picks up eventually and some of the dialogue isn't very intelligent. Street Kings may not be magificent but it is a gripping and intriguing thriller. The transfer is excellent, the movie has a gritty look to it but the contrast is natural, detail is pretty good and the image is consistently sharp. The AQ is also stellar, dialogue is clear and when the action kicks up, it is powerful and dynamic. I didn't check out the extras. Overall, Street Kings is an excellent crime thriller with a interesting plot and great acting and while there are a few minor flaws that keep it from true greatness, S.K is still an awesome thrill ride. Fox seems to have put excellent effort into the quality of both the visual and audio experience that makes Street Kings a worthy purchase. |

Best cop thriller since The Departed and Training Day!
"Street Kings" is possibly one of the best cop thrillers in years since the likes of The Departed, Training Day, Dark Blue, and To Live and Die in L.A.! Keanu Reeves gives a very strong performance as a veteran L.A. detective who is struggling with his conscience as he deals with both delivering brutal street justice and mourning the death of his wife. Oscar winner Forest Whitaker gives another strong performance as Keanu's hard-nosed boss, whose duties include keeping Keanu within the confines of the law and out of the clutches of Internal Affairs. Hugh Laurie (TV's "House") was a real surprise in the movie, as he plays the captain of Internal Affairs who is out to bring down corruption in the force, particularly amongst the Vice Squad (which includes Keanu, Whitaker, and a couple of appearances by Jay Mohr and John Corbett). And Chris Evans ("Fantastic Four") gives a very convincing performance as a young detective who teams up with Keanu after evidence implicates the latter in the death of his ex-partner. I bought the Blu-ray the day the movie came out (not a blind buy, by the way), and the movie could not have looked or sounded better than when I first saw it in the theater! Fox did a great job with the top-notch PQ and AQ, and the extras were pretty impressive, even the digital copy of the film that I've recently downloaded onto my iPhone! In conclusion, for those who haven't seen "Street Kings" and are kind of skeptical about it, then by all means you should rent it first. All others, I highly recommend adding it to your Blu-ray action collections! |

Street Kings
Decent drama/action flick. No real good guys here, just different levels of bad. Lots of familiar faces in this one. Gritty and worth a look. It is no "Shield" but still worth your time. |

Everyone's out for theirs. The way of the world.
I rented this to see if it was worth buying, and the movie really surprised me, with alot of action and twists, although some were predictable it kept me interested to the end. Keanu Reeves played a good part along with Forest Whitaker who always gives a top notch performance.
As far as quality is concerned, the video is excellent and the audio just plain rocks. I am definitely going to buy this Blu-ray. |

Good movie and nice camera work
Well, I liked it. Good, sharp PQ and the audio was very good. Unlike Felon, the camera work in this one was steady and the action scenes were done with some rapid camera view switching rather than a lot of camera motion that can obscure or blur the characters. |

Rent it First!
This movie was pretty good. I enjoyed it very much. great cast. good story. I know this type of Bad cop movie has been done before in different ways. Keanu Reeves did a way better job as a cop in street kings then he did in speed. Very believable. Great camera and make-up work. there was a good part in this movie were you can feel how cold the streets could be. But for the most part it was very predictable.
PQ were ok not the best, colors were on point. But nothing amazing.
Audio was slammin. WOW very loud. Had my 2.1 sound system working hard.
overall good must watch. But I recommend renting first not wroth $20+ |

Street Kings was a really cool movie. I think Keanu did a really good job. Some may say it was predictable. Some parts were, others weren't. Even still, this movie is a great thrill ride about corruption and it makes you think if things like that happen in reality. The PQ was also very good and the AQ just blew me away. You could even hear the growl of the SRT Charger Keanu drove so clearly. |

well, i had not read a single thing about this movie before renting it. highly predictable, i figured it out before a quarter of the movie had gone by. still, it was entertaining to a certain degree. it is worth a rental. |

Perhaps it's cliche is the same, good cops gone bad, bad cop wants to find redemption. Street Kings is just that. It was nice to see Keanu play a cop again and he's as tough as nails. Forest Whitaker is always fun to watch him get pissed off and show his great acting strength. Once again Fox turns in a great blu with solid PQ & AQ. bonus features are small but it covers the basics and this title is yet another good one to own. |

One of the biggest dissapointments this year
I really looked forward to this movie and it could have been really good. It was probably the most predicatble movie I ever seen. It also feels like the same movie have been done tons of times before but much better than this. It has some good moments but never gets exciting enough. With such great cast the director should have been able to do a much more compelling movie than this.. I bet the script was good too..
PQ was great but not fantastic. AQ was bery good too. Haven't watched any of the extras.
I'd recommend you to rent it before deciding to buy. |

Movie OK... AQ buzzing
The movie wasn't one of my favorites... Normally I'm a Keanu fan, but he wasn't convincing in this fim.
The reason I am posting is to ask if anyone else experienced a buzzing from their centre speaker. During dialogue my centre speaker would buzz a bit. It was very annoying. After watching the movie I put in a bunch of other BDs to see if my speaker was the problem. None of the movies produced the same buzz/static.
Has anyone else experieced this? Is there an explanation? |

you've seen it before...
...dark blue for instance and most of the corrupt bad cops flicks of the 70's.
Ayer had a startling break trough with the script of training day and then kind of a disappointment with harsh times. Guy knows his stuff about police etc, racial tensions between different communities in the ghettos, but there's nothing new here; not even with Ellroy on board writing the story
By the way it's still better than the average super hero garbage on the screens these days, with a solid performance by Reeves and the usual screen- illuminating presence of Whitaker.
Blu ray tech specs are satisfying. |
