Talk to the hand

I thought it looked really good.

The sound wasn't that bad either.

If this movie was more serious it could have been a real winner.

It isn't a terrible movie but it isn't T2 or T1.

If you like the film this blu is worth the discount bin that I found it in.

More misplaced nostalgia

I'm sorry to say, but this movie is terrible. Doesn't anyone care about artistic integrity anymore? There's a reason James Cameron hasn't been attached to any Terminator project since T2, he's done telling HIS story. So Hollywood comes along and says, "Gee, we haven't milked the Terminator cash cow dry yet, guess we better hurry up before Schwarzenegger is too old to do it..." Except in the process they came up with a HORRIBLE script that completely contradicts the themes of the first two films. The point was that you CAN change the future, but T3 comes along and says, "No, actually, you only prolong the inevitable, so here's another terminator to kill John Connor..." While they may have done a decent job of explaining where he goes and how he survives WWIII, and while I whole-heartedly believe that Nick Stahl is a MUCH better actor AND John Connor than Eddie 'smack fiend' Furlong, there is little redeeming value to this film other than the opportunity to stare at Claire Danes and Kristanna Loken for two hours. Otherwise, I've seen Sci-Fi channel movies better than this steaming loaf.
Once you get past that, the picture and audio are great. But a silk hat on a pig is still a pig.

She'll be back...........

and with that you get a tired looking Arnold in this lackluster follow-up to the epic T2. I mean yeah it was cool to see Arnie play his signature role one last time before he became Governator, but he should have passed on this movie. Right from the start the you know it's not a James Cameron film. The tone and feel are off. Director Jonathan Mostow does a good job with the action sequences but the writing is childish and unfunny. "Talk to the hand" , She'll be back", "That's a nice car", "That's a nice gun". ahh it gives me the shits. T3 could have been much more if only. Bottom line it's an OK entry. Blu details are favorable with this non truhd sound and 1080i picture. Mostow once mentioned a longer director's cut when doing press for the initial DVD release, I wonder if one day Warner Bros. will revisit that concept. Maybe, jut maybe it will be worth it.

Underrated Movie

The movie itself is underrated. The humor is a bit much (especially in the gas station scene) but the story is nice and tight. Lacks the meat of a story like Cameron would bring to the table. Perhaps could have used more to make us care about John Connor & Kate Brewster (no not Jon & Kate). The special effects really stand out here. Note the scenes like the arrival of the Terminators for both sound and picture quality. I wonder if some of the people complaining have bad players/TV's or hookups. My TV and Player arent exactly the best, but none of my Blu-Ray movies are just barely above DVD releases.

I think I'm in the crowd of those that are a bit tired of T2 so T3 is refreshing and the ending isn't the happily ever after of the first two Terminators. Of the three Terminators I own on Blu Ray (T1-T3) this is the one most impressive visually. Of course, it's the most recent one as well. Extras are fairly the same as the DVD releases. If you had to pick 1 out of the first three Terminator movies to test your Blu-Ray and High Definition sets this should be the one (haven't seen the Blu Ray of Salvation yet, but then again Salvation was even more lacking in story than T3). T3 gets the bad rap for the humor (which at times takes away from the movie) the fact that no woman is going to seem scary compared to Arnold (he should have gone back to classic bad Terminator) and the sense that Nick Stahl and Claire Danes felt they were above this type of movie.

T3's pacing was much faster than the first two Terminators, but that might be part of why I also liked it. Story-wise you can't compare this with T1 & T2, but it is very refreshing all-around. Maybe people will appreciate this movie as further Terminators without Arnold show that this movie isn't as bad as some think. Overall I'd recommend this as a rental, but if you really like the movie this Blu-Ray shouldn't disappoint.

How to differentiate the bad pressing vs the good one

- The UPC for the 12/18/07 1080i Blu-Ray release is: 085391186304

- The UPC for the 03/04/08 1080p Blu-Ray release is: 883929016938

Enjoy...

"The battle has just begun."

While not as strong as “Terminator” or “T2,” this film is still quite entertaining (and not quite as bad as “Terminator Salvation”). Perhaps the comedy gets a little too out-of-hand, and perhaps Nick Stahl is too dopey to be John Connor (heck, now that I've seen "Carnivale," I'll always see Nick Stahl as a dopey farm boy). Regardless, the story/plot is quite fitting in the series. It features some great action and special effects scenes. Production design (props, sets, costumes) are great; I was particarly impressed with the Terminatrix. Photography is good. Music is good.

The disc has perfect video quality and decent sound. Includes all the same extras as the 2-disc DVD.

Conner is dead in the year 2032!

Movie - T3 gets a bad rap. but I love this final piece in are percent time. This film sets up the future perfectly. Love it love it! what a way to cap of this franchise!

PQ's - I first bought the T3 that was 1080i but I never open it. Returned right away. picked up the 1080p version. OMG! very good looking film. the best Quality out of the 3 hands down. this is a show casing Blu Ray for sure!

AQ - very good, great background sounds. I thought that I was being cased by the T-X.

Overall - much better quality from the last one. great addition too the collection. Terminator fans it's a must buy. even if you already bought the 1080i version. this is worth re-buying. Hell I have to re-purchase T2 for the Skynet edition.

T3

Not much to say about the movie, its awesome, i love it audio is smashing, though no lossless, still gives the receiver a propper workout :P Picture lacks abit of depth, with some artifacts in some scenes aswell, overall its good looking, but kinda takes the HD away without the sharpness and depth.. Dont get me wrong, it does look good, but its HD-DVD quality.

Great Movie

The movie is great. The video quality is just above DVD quality but not by much. The audio quality is no different than the DVD.
