A New Kind Of Evil For Blu-Ray
The transfer of this film is solid. The video and sound Q are superb.
From the artwork, set design, special effects, costumes, storyline, and talent, I've always enjoyed this film immensely as it's very out of the ordinary and original.
It is gorgeous on Blu-Ray.
Thandie Newton heats it up a notch as the power hungry domineering wife in charge kinda girl - hot indeed. Judi Dench is always fantastic and manages to steal the show in every scene. How does she do that?
Too bad there isn't a follow up to this one. This seems to be the best in the series. I guess you may as well quit when you're at the top. |

..but it's my favourite game.
Movie - The movie in my opinion was always underated. I think if you pay attention and enjoy a solid back story that this is a real cinema treat. There is a ton of detail and character appreciation that some might think it hurts the film but honestly after repeat viewings you will appreciate it. I think the only complaint I have other than the few "unrealistic" moments is the ending. I understand why it was done that way but unfortunately I want another film to close off the story arch.
Video - This is nearly reference quality. I found a few scenes that the blacks weren't as good as they are in some other movies I have seen. I think 99% of the people out there will be happy.
Audio - This is where the film shines in my opinion. When the armada attacks the planet... if you don't have a smile on your face then you really don't know what sound design is all about! I love the way the sound sucks you in and doesn't let you go until the credits roll.
Extras - The extras were ok. Not really anything special but came with a lot more then most flicks do.
Overall - I think if you like sci-fi/action then this is a must own. It has great watchability so in my opinion that makes it a good buy! |

Riddick Returns..................................
What sets this sequel apart from the first time we met Richard D Riddick, is that this one is a straight up sci-fi acction adventure with lots of visual effects, explosions and cool new World's never seen before. Vin Diesal takes his dark version of the character from Pitch Black and turns him into an action hero, rather then the cold blooded murderer we were told he was the first time around. Chronicles is supposed to be the first of a trilogy with it's own continuing story line. The movie was met with mixed reaction and therefore failed to become a huge blockbuster. However with the success it had on DVD and the spin-off game that was produced it seems the second or is that third film is beginnig to gather some momentum. Time will tell. In the meantime we have this excellent bluray to enjoy over and over. PQ is sharp and bright. Visuals looks awesome. AQ also rocks and adds the nessessary feel to the film. Suppliments are strong as it covers a good amount of material into the making of this movie. A great film to own. |

way under rated
I liked this much better than pitch black, which introduced riddick. When you watch it you can see parallels between different religions right here on earth! |

Chronicles is one of my favorite movies that i can watch over and over .I'm very happy they released the blu -ray with the unrated version it makes the story complete(it fills in the missing gaps) .Outstanding PQ and audio DTS-HD 5.1 |

Great Movie, Great Picture and Sound Great Blu Ray
Riddick haters always comment on how this movie sucks but this movie is great, I personally love movies with great backstory that still leaves mysteries Example: Necromongors have a great history and convert people on the planets they capture then destroy their world, they have unusual extreme artwork in their ships and armadas, second example: we know Riddick is a convict who escapes the best prisons in the system and he is an excellent killer with uncanny eyes capable of seeing in the dark but we dont know how he really got those eyes or what gives Furyans their strength and passion. Riddick is still the solo badass in this one living on a remote planet until bothered by Mercs, he is requested by an old friend to save their world from the Necromongors which he wants nothing to do with being the anti-hero. This movie has amazing scenes, my personal favorite is the running scene on the planet Crematoria. Sounds are awesome and plenty of extras including bonusview content including Anatomy of a Fight which shows the trauma caused by the fight |

"They are an army unlike any other...""
The Riddick series grows on me more and more...
The Chronicles of Riddick is a good follow up on Pitch Black, though I wish it had followed suit as
another R-Rated Sci-Fi, rather than cleaning up the language and amounts of gore to a PG-13'er.
Either way, the film was great. Lots of action, new worlds to explore, and lots of new characters
along with a couple of new races, so to speak. What more could you ask for from a Sci-Fi sequel?
PQ and AQ were excellent! There are numerous supplements which effectively round out the
package.
I recommend this movie to any Sci-Fi buffs or Pitch Black fans, though it is quite different than the
first movie. |

This Riddick movie are what they are, Don't try to be too complicated
The movies are about an anti hero riddick and although many dislike this movie ( which I don't really get), I enjoy movies like this alot. The picture and sound are fantastic. The plot is good, the actors did there job, the action was out of the hook; what else can you want. |

Good Flick
I enjoyed this flick as much if not more than Pitch Black and you can get them together on Blu-ray for cheap. |
