Stay away
I watched the first 30 minutes and just turned it off. I've never seen the rated R version but I'm guessing the opening scene was not in the original release. As gruesome and graphic as it was, it did a good job of grabbing your attention but the movie was downhill from there. I know Hollywood does a good job job over dramatizing life in the military, but this movie took it to a level beyond ridiculous. What's worse is that the target audience this movie was aimed at will probably believe that the Army is portrayed accurately. The acting was just as bad as the story and nothing, I mean nothing could make me want to finish this movie.
The PQ was above average as the SQ. However neither justifies a purchase or even a rental.

Dreadful...
I was so disappointed that how much this movie sucked. The first one was great and this one was just non-sense the concept is ridiculous. The PQ is fantastic, so is the sound quality. I tried to like it but i just couldn't...not recomended. |

Horror fanatics will love this
The story line is simply about gruesome acts of savagery, it's got plenty of surprises. I give the actual movie a 4 because the previous movie was better. The video was surprisingly good here especially in the darker scenes. There is a nice extra feature detailing a comic book telling the story of the beginning... I'm not a comic book fan, but maybe this hints at a prequel next! |

My PS3 still hasnt forgiven me for playing this in it!
First the good the AQ and PQ is great
Now the bad, the entire film, poorly written, badly acted, over the top gore for gores sake, a disgusting rape scene thrown in for just for the hell of it and characters you want killed just so the film will end. I really enjoyed the remake from a few years back but this is just boring a very tasteless. |

A good Drive-In B-Movie!
A good thrill fest. Not one of the best and not one of the worst. Upper middle of the road scare movie with good acting and fairly engaging charaters in a simplistic plot. PQ is above average. Nice detail, colors, solid blacks. SQ is a real treat! Strong dynamics and full channel usage moving sounds around you to envelope the listener with multiple effects. I kept looking over my shoulder with this surround field. If your expectations are not thru the roof on this title, you may enjoy it very much. Will have good multiple viewings for years to come. Kind of like a good Drive-In B-Movie! You don't expect a great deal out of it, but it delivers a good time! |

Only if you like these types of flicks
Though named The Hills Have Eyes 2, this sequel is not a remake of the original Hills Have Eyes 2 sequel from 1985, unlike the original Hills Have Eyes remake which was. Confused? Doesn't matter. This is just another entry into the torture porn genre. It won't win any awards, but it will deliver the grue in spades.
A group of impossibly good-looking reservists are sent out to the secret Army desert site for training. Eventually they meet up with the local mutants up in the mountains and abandoned mines, which doesn't work out to well for the grunts, to put it mildly. That's pretty much the story, so it's just up to us to try to guess who will survive the ordeal and await the next gruesome dispatching. Definitely not up to the original remake, which was pretty damn good, but if you're in the mood for no-brainer graphic violence this will fit the bill nicely.
The BD has awesome PQ, and the desert scenery really stands out. Sound quality was above average as well, with lots of directionality, particularly once inside the caves. A decent smattering of extras round out the package. |

Absolutely terrible, but slightly more entertaining than the original.
The original Hills Have Eyes remake was in my opinion, quite boring. The storyline dragged a bit. But it was still more coherent to a storyline than this drivel, and had infinitely better dialogue, and at least made an attempt to be even slightly scary. This awful sequel knows no words other than "fuck" and "shit", and used the tired-out army concept to try and make itself look "intelligent".
The violence is over-the-top, graphic and insanely gory, but coming from a gore fanatic, it was my favourite thing about the film. The gore effects here are extremely realistic, and about 10 times better than the first.
Picture quality is stunning, especially in the desert scenes. This film is one of the only films where I've noticed outstanding audio surround sound. Fantastic audio.
Unless you like absolutely brain-dead bloodthirsty horror films with not a sense of wit or interesting storyline, then this might just be your favourite movie ever. |

Ok But not btter then the first.
Well Hills have eyes was one of my favorite thriller/scary movies. this one came pretty close to the first one. I thing what kept it close to the first one was that it was in Blu ray and bloody as hell. great make-up. action or should I say blood and guts all over the place was awesome. I guess thats what happens when you send in untrained soldiers in hostel grounds? this movie gave me the heebi geebies. I had a lop in my throat in some part of the movie. I felt that I could smell what they were smelling and wanted to throw up. LOL.... oh yea the suspense was there. had me thinking what the hell would I do in those F-up circumstances. I know... curl up into a ball and cry. don't laugh at me either. cuz if it were you. you'd do the same thing.
Pq not bad. very good parts. blood looked good ever inflicted wound looked painful. and the for the bloody guts. you can practically smell them threw the TV.
Audio was great. nice and loud and made those suspense parts even better.
overall Hills have eyes 2 was a decent sequel. still had a strong story. I strongly recommend renting it before buying. it's a must rent at least. if they release Hills have eyes in a bundle pack I'd buy it. |

The Hills Hve Eyes 2
By far this is one of the best transfers I've seen, especially for an MPEG-2. There is no FG(film grain) visible in this movie. Every seen looks crisp and clean. I wish every BD movie would be like this. I'm a person who looks for detail, and this film makes detail look great. This would be a flik to demo on your Blu player. This movie might not be the best for some, but the clarity of this transfer, you cant knock it. Definetly a buy for the Blu library. The AQ was also really good. Very impressed with this transfer. GO BLU! |

BORING! With amazing sound and video!
I thought this movie was going to be awesome because I loved the first one. I was dead wrong! This movie was boring and full of cheap scares! It wasn't very scary, the story wasn't good, and it seemed like a lot of it was a repeat of the first. But from a technical point of veiw this film was outstanding! The picture was incredible! The words on the screen had crisp lines, the dark images were solid with no grain, and colors were perfect! The DTS HD track was fantastic! It had full use of speakers with footsteps coming from behind you to a huge dynamite explosion! It also had very clear dialouge and clean bass. This film also had loads of extras which I actually watched all of and was pleasantly surprised. I think I like the extras more than the actual movie! I'm a huge horror movie fan and this one just didn't tickle my fancy, but the first one did! Great audio, video, and extras! |

Fantastica transferencia de video. Un film que no convence y que no mereció ser la secuela de la primera parte perfectamente ejecutada por el novato Alexandre Aja. Muy inferior a la primera pero no por ello deja de dar miedo. |
