When the going gets tough the tough get going..............
Exacty one year later the Romance continues for Jack & Joan with Ralph along for the ride as they seek the Jewel of the Nile. Like most sequels this one falls a little flat in plot and gives you basic thrills that pass as action sequences. Compared to Romancing the Stone, Jewel is more cartoonish in it's scope and less funny with it's dialoge. Non the less, Jewel is a fine movie if only because the three leads play well off of one another. They would reunite one more time with The War of the Roses and with it's tongue in cheek title one would assume it's the third Romance movie, but it's the opposite off them both. After Nile was released in 1985 there had been rumors of a 3rd film, but it never filtered into production other then a title The Crimson Eagle. Jewel looks decent in blu but nothing to shout about. PQ is soft but colors looks good. AQ w/ the DTS-MA track liven up the explosions, but mild out the speaking areas. extra's are slim but at most we get a audio track from the director. |
