Super hot Bond girl
I was a little scared when I saw the review for video quality after I had already bought this...(one of my favorite Bond's!).. but i'm surprised to say that I thought the pq was really really good. Not quite on the level of Dr. No and Russia but very close. Aq sounded the best i've ever heard it. Yes I have to say that i'm glad that I bought it |

"I LIKE A GIRL IN A BIKINI. NO CONCEALED WEAPONS"
This is one of the better Moore Bond films along with For Your Eyes Only imo. Brit Ekland looks fantastic in high def and it's always a treat to see Herve Villechaize in any movie. The locations in Hong Kong were quite interesting as well.
There's plenty of action and one-liners you'd expect from a Bond film with a good villain in Christopher Lee and bringing back Clifton James as the hilarious Sheriff JW Pepper from Live And Let Die in a small cameo was a real blast!
Once again Lowry has done a magnificent job with the transfer. Detail and colors are clear and vibrant. As others have said the video is not quite on par with Dr No. but that's probably the source element more than anything else but still great work!
The lossless track is clean and crisp with good use of surrounds.
I rarely watch xtras so no opinion either way
If your a Bond fan than this another one that should be added to your BR collection.

Good for true fans
I like this movie. Pretty good transfer. I'm a little tired of these blu-ray reviewers' opinions, as if they're such hip pop culture watchdogs. Chances are, if we're looking at the review, we're interested in the movie due to the fact that we like it. It's very disrespectful to the movie fan / customer to have to read about Greg Maltz's strong dislike for Roger Moore, etc. Maybe someone who actually enjoys a movie should review it, like the true fans on this page. |

He never misses his target, and now his target is 007.................
Moore second outing as Bond has him going up against Christopher Lee's Scaramanga who happens to be the man with the golden gun and who may or may not be involved in some solar crisis plot to poison the World. Once again this is a more talk first, take action later Bond characterization. I suppose the time it was made makes a certain difference compared to Bronsnan's Bond or even now with Daniel Craig. Either way this was another successful chapter in the franchise as this was Bond film #9 if you are keeping score. Bond on blu scores another high point as PQ 7 AQ and all the bonus features are excellent. Nuff said. |

Bond's Thai Bar-B-Q
Martial Arts Schoolgirls, great cast and locals make this Asian Adventure, Bond Style overcome its own
badness. Camp rules script with Arcade sets and Cheesy dialog; but Barry's score glues it together
with Moore's intent Bond and some Broccolli.
PQ and Sound shows what a restoration can do. BD Blast A1 |
