The Return of a great adventure............
that is The Mummy Returns. Another go round for Rick and Evie, accept this time the've got thier 10 year old son along for the ride. Once again Universal has done good in the PQ & AQ transfer of this film. Another must own on Blu. |

Good Sequel
The Mummy Returns is a good sequel, it doesn't add much to the franchise but keep everything the same which in this case is good. Sommer once again brings the fast paced action along with humorous & thrilling moments. The plot is solid however some ideas seem useless and don't fit in with the Mummy mythology such as Rick's mark which is important in the sequel but you don't see it in the original. The cast is still great and I liked how Oded Fehr's character gets more screentime and establishes a friendship with Rick. The addition of The Rock as the Scorpion King was okay but served no purpose beside him getting a spin-off movie (and having a really bad CGI version at the end). Comparing the first and second against one another, I prefer the plot of the original however from a pure entertainment stand point, I like the second for it's much bigger action sequences especially the double-decker bus scene. Being one of Universal first release, they have a lot to prove and like the original, they do not dissapoint. The PQ is excellent providing fantastic detail, realistic contrast, no grain and great dark scenes. The AQ is amazing, pretty much flawless, it is powerful, dynamic and it really works out all of the speakers. The extras are the same as the first, good featurettes however most of ports but U-control looks very interesting. (unfortunately I don't have P1.1) Overall, this disc is magnificent, the movie is a great sequel and the disc has superb PQ, good extras and a demo worthy audio. Highly Recommended. |

Return for This Mummy
This was just as good as the first one. It was entertaining, had funny moments, and was worth every minute of watching it. The video quality was much better than the previous one. The quality on the sound is just a little better than the previous one. The extras were much better and had some features that the DVD didn't. Overall, this is worth the purchase, especially since it was pretty cheap. |

An Amazing Transfer -- Universal Succeeds On All Levels
What can I say, an amazing Blu-Ray. The picture quality is top notch, it beats a lot of recent movies I have seen. When you see the battle with the Scorpian King at the beginning...WOW! It's like you can see every little detail, every grain of sand. I play it at 720p on my Sanyo HDTV. I saw it on 1080p on another HDTV, it looks incredible either way. The sound is the best you will hear, turn it up and enjoy. While some debate how good the film is, I still love it. It isn't as good as the first, but its still great. Definiteley a must have for your collection. At the current price, you can't beat the quality you're getting. |

Blows away the dvd
I was really impressed with the outcome of the PQ and SQ of the movie from start to finsh. Keep up
the good work Universal. I would pick this up and The Mummy if you are a fan of the movies you
wont be disappointed. |

Awesome
even though this sequel is not half as good a movie as the first (to many unrealistic CGI effects) this is still an enjoyable movie and a must buy if you like the first.
that being said i popped in the dvd at 480p and watched a bit, then switched to 1080i bluray version and OMG the difference is night and day especially on my 100" screen. This and the mummy 1 are show pieces for all bluray movies |
