If you ever worked in a restuarant you will really get this movie
Waiting is a film that has garnered a lot of negative reviews everywhere you turn. Yes there are a few gross out moments, yes there is A LOT of swearing and the F word is prevelant and pervasive, but anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant knows, that is exactly how it is!
Each cast member is someone you might have worked with before. You can really sympathize with the characters and by the end of the movie, you'll wish you were partying with them after a long day at work. There is a great group dynamic here and everyone gels.
My only major issue with Waiting is the problematic editing. There are several scenes in the movie where you just can't follow the conversation because the opening of it, either didn't exist or was sent to the cutting room floor! Having spent over a decade in the trenches of Restaurant life, Waiting is one of my favorite comedies of all time. Just one question ... how do you feel about frontal male nudity??? |

Funny movie...
...with a lot of harsh language. Even the menu had cursing in it. I mean every other word was an "F" bomb. A little gratuitous if you ask me.
I think cursing is at it's best when you use it to emphasize something. If you use it every other word it starts to lose it's meaning and just becomes annoying. And everybody was doing it. One of the characters cursed every other word and that was her thing, what made her funny. But then everyone else around her is doing the same thing, it diminishes what she does.
Overall, still pretty funny though. |

the movie is awesome and will be a classic
Sure, its plenty obvious the reviewer of this film has never worked in a restaurant before. A lot of people I knew recommended this movie for a while and just recently I bought this for $5 at a nearby Saturday Matinee. This will be a movie I watch over and over as it has a multiple cast of characters and I can relate well to Ryan Reynold's smart ass character. Not many people may not like it now, but only time will tell. |

waiting is hilarious! anyone who doenst laugh at this movie is crazy... As for the blu transfer they did a pretty good job.. PQ is a 3.9 pushing a 4.0 some scenes look very good and some look above average. AQ is nice as well.. if your a fan of this movie i recommend the buy.. no action, but a nice comedy movie.. |

Hahaha, hilarious movie! Especially for anybody who has worked in the restaurant industry! I
mean, this movie touches on everything, from waiters messing with the food of people who
complain about everything to the employees praying that nobody comes in for a table just before
closing! Excellent comedy that I recommend to any waiters out there.
PQ and AQ were great. No complaints here. There was a bundle of supplements, though none
were all that special.
Overall, great comedy with a great transfer!

OK
For me its all about Ryan Reynolds' smart ass character, which he pulls off so well (Just Friends, Blade 3 as well) and for such a small budgeted movie, I think its a pretty good comedy too. PQ will surprise you on this one, and the audio is quite good for a dialog driven feature. A purchase for me, but senses of humor vary drastically, so maybe rent first. |
