Jeff is a professional musician, composer and writer living in Portland, Oregon. He splits his musical activities between the jazz, classical and theater worlds. As a writer, Jeff was the theater, film and music critic for the Daily Utah Chronicle, and he has continued to have freelance reviews published in such magazines as The Sondheim Review and, prior to joining Blu-ray.com, for several other online review sites. Jeff is well known in classic film circles for his internationally recognized and lauded research on Golden Era actress Frances Farmer. Jeff's Farmer research has been used as source material for several broadcasts on television and radio (including A&E's Biography of Farmer), as well as numerous books, magazine features and newspaper articles.
