Three More Maurice Pialat Films Heading to Blu-ray

French label Gaumont has revealed that it is planning to bring to Blu-ray three more films by acclaimed director Maurice Pialat: Nous ne vieillirons pas ensemble a.k.a We Won't Grow Old Together (1972), starring Marlène Jobert, Jean Yanne and Christine Fabréga, Police (1985), starring Gérard Depardieu, Sophie Marceau and Richard Anconina, and Sous le soleil de Satan a.k.a Under the Sun of Satan (1987), starring Gérard Depardieu, Sandrine Bonnaire and Maurice Pialat. All three release will be available for purchase on February 20th.
We Won't Grow Old Together
Emotional drama from acclaimed director Maurice Pialat about the impending end to the tumultuous relationship between Jean (Jean Yanne) and Catherine (Marlene Jobert). After years together, their intense reliance upon each other has grown into a tragic union filled with emotional abuse and, despite all the apologies and the good times, it looks like their partnership is finally coming to a close.

Police
Gerard Depardieu picked up the Best Actor prize at the Venice Film Festival for his performance as a cynical Paris police inspector who is out to smash a drugs ring operating from Marseilles, but gets involved with a girl at the centre of his enquiries. It was Maurice Pialat's first big budget film and a tremendous success in France.

Under the Sun of Satan
Gerard Depardieu plays a priest suffering a crisis of faith in this award-winning religious drama directed by Maurice Pialat. Unsure about his suitability for the priesthood, French priest Father Donissan (Depardieu) encounters 16-year-old Mouchette (Sandrine Bonnaire) who is pregnant to married local nobleman Cadignan (Alain Artur). When Cadignan refuses to leave his wife for her, Mouchette, in a fit of rage, shoots him dead. With Donissan now certain that Mouchette is controlled by Satan, he embarks on a fateful mission to save the girl's soul.
